Ive taken ecstasy a few times before while being constantly on benzos and its been great. Now I’ve quit benzos cold turkey 2 months ago and i wanna use ecstasy again just to have some fun (since alcohol is not an option because the anxiety on the next days is crazy). The problem is that since ive quit benzos i am constantly really anxious and that causes my heart beat fast and hard. Given all the above facts, how risky it is for me to use ecstasy again?

I can not tell if it would lead to bad trip now, but your anxiety will probably decrease even more next few months.

One thing I, and some of my friends, have found to work with molly is pregabalin. It changes the trip a bit, but it is still awesome. If you have no contraindications, you could try dropping 75-150 mg hour before taking MDMA. It might be best to try pregabalin first without other drugs to find out how it affects you. But it is effective anxiolytic drug for most people.

Even tho I have not seen any reports of pregabalin+MDMA causing serious adverse effects, it just seems like a wise precaution to not megadose either when taking the combo. Pregabalin is bit weird, it causes all kind of downstream effects.

MDMA is, after all, methamphteamine with a methylenedioxy substructure added onto the molecule, it is still a highly potent amphetamine. The accelerated heartrate is naturally going to be part of the experience. I suspect it results back to brain damage, but I've never felt anxiety in the typical way people experience it with catastrophizing and sweating and all of that. I can still feel fear but it's somewhat dulled, in fact to an extent that while it helps me with skateboarding it leads me into a lot of stupid and dangerous shit.

If MDMA is causing this effect, I'm not sure if I'd advise going lower than ~70mg as many people report lower doses as feeling like an "infinite come-up", but for most, MDMA can be anxious on the come-up and then relaxing towards the peak. The accelerated heart rate and increased body temp and sweating are to be expected throughout the entire experience, but there's nothing necessarily wrong with coadministering MDMA with a benzodiazepine or similar if it helps you. MDA is a significantly more relaxed version of MDA, plus it lasts longer and in my opinion is better all around (in addition to having more psychedelia).

Before I had access to benzos, I'd often use hard liquor. It's saved me from serotonin syndrome twice when foolishly combining ayahuasca and LSA containing seeds (Banisteriopsis caapi and Argyeria nervosa specifically). Most anxious people who I've rolled with will feel a bit antsy on the come-up, but then melt into a puddle of euphoric relaxation once it actually hits, it should take no longer than 45 minutes to an hour to reach that point.

Most of these people are severely anxious but also completely unmedicated, because this is America (I heard that in Donald Glover's voice) and therefore nobody had health insurance. When we eventually got our hands on a bottle of propranolol though, it made the come-ups significantly more pleasant for the anxious people rolling without dulling the experience whatsoever. This also works for psychedelics, as propranolol blocks out physical anxiety without affecting your mental state at all as far as I'm aware.

It's hard to say I think. It could go either way.

For me personally, clean MDMA relieves anxiety assuming I am reasonable with dose. It actually helps me fall asleep.

That said I've seen people become very anxious on it, usually when people push dose high.

If you decide to try I would keep dose light to start. I think if i overdo it to the point of "suicide Tuesday", that is where I can be very anxious or just overall shitty feeling.

Congrats on quitting the benzos. I think in the long run they cause much more anxiety unless you want to be on them forever.

As someone who has quit benzos twice, I can tell you it will get better.

i have a lot of anxiety, but my heart doesn't beat too fast while this is occurring so i might be different than you, but my experience with mdma is that it kind of gives me vibes similar to being nervous while i'm on it in general, that's just kind of what the buzz does for me. it's a bit different than nervousness though... the next day, i usually don't crash very hard, and i'm just kind of more burnt out than experiencing anxiety. it's not really much of a crash at all. like barely noticable and maybe less anxiety than some other days because i'm a not tired... you could experience something different though, or maybe you will notice as days progress after taking it you feel a bit off and anxious... i'm not really sure, but i didn't have any overwhelming anxiety when taking it, and i suffer from anxiety.

i sometimes hear rumours of people crashing really hard from E... i always recommend low dose shrooms over E, but some people don't like that, and that's not 100% gonna be a good time either.

My boyfriend nor I have ever experienced MDMA/MDA comedowns, even from 600mg doses. I suspect some people just don't experience them for some reason.

^^^some drugs hit me really hard the next day and E wasn't that bad... i probably wasn't on the highest doses though. i have no real idea what i was taking, other than i got some tested mda one time, and that was fire.. i actually only took half the pill, so it probably wasn't that much, but these were the strongest and best stuff supposedly, which i 100% believe from my experience with half of one.

the only thing with mda and mdma for me is that i get a tolerance super fast to it.. like i roll once and then for months i can't do it again.. like i went three weeks after taking half the mda pill that i was talking about, and it didn't kick in at all... just something to think about, that it's changing some people's brain chemistry for that long afterward.

That's an interesting tolerance building effect, I've been able to get zero tolerance with two week breaks for often 8+ months.

Edit: Wanted to clarify I've used pure crystal for all except a few MDA pressies back in the day.

The 2nd time I rolled, I ate 250mg over a few hrs and took 2 hits of strong LSD. experience was a but of a blur, but I swear, I had trouble smiling for the next week or 2.

These days as long as I don't push dose too hard (+250mg in a night) and I don't drink more than 2 beers I'll generally feel fine. If I drink 3 beers I usually feel a bit off the next day and it's not a normal alcohol hangover.

Surprisingly MDA does not seem to do the same, and I've read it is more neurotoxic?

MDA is more neurotoxic as far as oxidative stress if I recall correctly? It's been a while since I've looked into it.

I almost exclusively roll in the presence of psychedelics, but I've also been tripping as often as my tolerance will physically allow me to for the last 3+ years so it'd be tough to find a time to roll where I'm not also tripping hahaha.
