Eating under the influence.

Anyone else who attempts to stay fit have a problem resisting shitty food when drunk and or high?

I usually eat pretty decently, and work out quite a bit during the week, then go out partying at eat terribly on the weekends.

Anyone have any success in resisting the temptations of food while intoxicated?
 
yepp... drunk = salty oily junk food.

stoned = sugary junk food.

my usual = health conscious, almost too much so . . . ;)

er, and... no success. seems that what matters to me is very state specific...
 
when i'm drunk i tend to eat a lot of fatty foods. when i'm sober i tend to eat a lot too, but it's weird because when i'm high i get self-conscious that i'm a few pounds overweight and i usually evaluate myself a lot when i smoke
 
My appetite is increased at least 5x when I smoke everyday. Drinking also has me eatting eventhough im not even that hungry. I have to be real drunk and that doesn't happen anymore.

I used to have this problem but I trained myself away from it. You tend to get the muchies while stoned and drunk, but over time Ive been able to pretty much make them stop. I just dont let myself eat. I tell myself Im not really hungry and its just the pot or alcohol making me feel that way.
 
i eat well when im sober but man o man whenever i'm high or drunk i can't help myself. i can put away two plates of mexican food in a sitting..... as well as helpin out my friends with thiers............ im turning into a fatty
 
You have to give yourself a horrid guilty complex over it. Works for me..I just trained my brain to tell myself what a pig I am if I let it happen. LOL..not that I NEVER let myself indulge..but ya know what I mean. For the most part, I keep eating to BEFORE drinking. I find eating a nice meal before you drink helps too.
 
that is a very good point/idea/advice. I usualy eat before i drink.....helps with the hangovers and absorbtion of alcohol, but once im loaded i don't have the restraint/willpower when it comes to mexican food. for me its either keep drinkin till i am innebriated or stuff myself with food. I'd rather feel guilty from overeating than feeling/suffering from the crappy effects of my well too known hangovers....ugh yeah but what are you gonna do. i just try and make sure i enjoy myself whatever i do:D
 
I'm stoned hungry all the time.. but I always try to eat well regardless. And by eat well, I mean tasty and not loaded with shitty things such as hydrogenated oils and cholesterol.
 
I just dont eat when drunk or high- which is just as bad as eating crap. I just think of it as a toss-up, being healthy or being wasted. And their pretty much diameterically opposed...

Definitely. If you stuff yourself after drinking a ton, not only do you have a normal hangover headache the next morning, but you also have a lovely stomach ache to throw on top. I find it wonderful cursing my eating and drinking habits when I am on the shitter the next morning. =D

I'm the same... after a while it just kind of becomes second nature. It's all about willpower imo. If you really don't want to eat junk food etc while intoxicated then don't! Just think about why you shouldn't be eating whatever it is, and how much harder your going to have to work after eating it? lol i dunno. But if worst comes to worst, just drink a little bit more water to flush it out of your system a bit faster. Just a thought.
 
I have the reverse problem. I'm trying to gain weight in muscle and its nearly impossible to eat while under the influence of any uppers

The problem is, when you are REALLY trashed, this rational thought process goes away...at least in my experience.
 
Just eat healthy food while under the influence. A local organic store around here sells about as healthy as you can get chips( no hydroginated whatever). Also, try sandwiches and cereal. Granted, I eat alot of that normaly, so eating it for snacks kinda sucks, but eh. Mexican food can be healthy, if its not like Taco Bell and crap. Maby if you know you got a big night of partying, cook something and stick it in the fridge. I always found when Im fucked up its not the crap food I want to eat, its the fact that Im too fuckin lazy to cook anything, wich means crap food right there.

Tell me about it... A couple weeks ago I was extremely drunk/stoned and I ate a FILLET-O-FISH from Carl's Jr - and I very very very rarely eat meat and have always avoided fast food. I am still disgusted with myself
