I sincerely hope you do, i may be a bit mad, but im no violent sex maniac. I want to check out the deserted part of the lakes soon, I think its called Ennerdale, far off the beaten track and hordes of tourists, where you have to walk to get to, as there's no road, and i believe you can do wild camping there by the lake. It looks awesome. Almost as magnificent as Snowdon. (And thats a hard act to follow in the uk at least)

That sounds fucking amazing! I grew up in a lake region so I have a particular fondness for them & I LOVE hiking (also camping). Off the beaten paths are nearly always the best places. Are these lakes nice for swimming? And what's the best time to visit? It gets too hot for me in August here so I'm thinking of where I can be that's cooler. If I'm not up for Aus/NZ, sounds like your area would be a good alternative. I don't like temps much above 25.

Lakes getting too hot is a very rare problem in the UK. ;)

We dont have 4 seasons any more, just a cold one, and a wet one.

If you travel between october and april it will be freezing. From May To September it will rain constantly.

About 1 year in 8 we get a few weeks of actual summer sunshine. Im not even exagerating very much.

25 c makes headline news on the tv news and press over here. It only happens maybe 3 times a year.

Snowdonia is essentially my back garden. Never really been out in it though. Got driven to one of the popular touristy mountains that isn't Snowdon when I first moved here but otherwise never been. I really should make more of an effort. Am not much of an outdoorsy type but it's definitely very pretty indeed around these parts if you get out in it a bit.

Is perhaps an odd thing but I never really thought of clouds casting shadows before I moved here.

Isn't there a cafe at the top of Snowdon? They should do the same with Everest. I'm sure a nice cuppa tea and a bun would be ideal after 290000 feet.

And a train to take you to the top.

HAHA. Not sure who you teking the piss out of there. Some people just dont get the countryside do they, but i would think as a Cornishman you would.. I dont mind having my mp3s giving that rythym to my strides.

Lol, twasn't taking teh piss.

I'm just a simpleton who enjoys the film 'Uncle Buck'.
Johnathon Candy was a sterling actor. Who's very much missed around these parts.... R.I.P
