Ok, this is something that popped up in conversation of the weekend.
I remember when I first started pilling it at clubs, I was told by a number of people that champagne kicks in the E and makes you peak harder. Back then, I didn't put much thought into it, I just believed what I was told. I didn't question it untill this weekend. Can any of you BLighters shed some light?
Is it fact or fiction?

Cool, but I have drunk Champs on E also, but I don't know if the champs is really doing anything or if it's just the E.
Hasn't anybody thought about this?

Champagne is one of those drinks that goes straight to my head. I always attributed this to its bubbly-ness; somehow I thought the fizziness transported the alcohol faster to my brain. Maybe it's the same for E's, I'm definately gonna try this out next time!

I've always been a lover of champagne & e.
I don't know if it actually does much, its probably the mental association with Champagne and celebration and good vibes that seems to make the pills work more (good setting, mind frame, etc).
Plus it always gets you a bit 'tipsy' and combined with a nice MDMA pill, its a fun night out with friends.

curious, being a depressant it should naturally work against the E.
perhaps it's this whole "relaxing and letting go" at the start of the pill that a couple of shandies might help with.
i know a number of people who like to loosen up with a drink b4 popping

I agree with you guys, a couple of drinks are nice b4 you E, but, that is a couple of "drinks" not champagne. Why is it specifically champagne that is supossed to help you peak?

personally part of my pre-loading regime always involves half a bottle of fizz...a good pinot noir is nice but preferably Billecart Salmon or Bollinger. Moet is OK, Veuve Cliquot better - you can get a gorgeous V.C. blush which makes me quiver

Champagne gives a very unique high because of the bubbles, the grapes and the hell yeah its champagne. If you are gonna take some good stuff then why not wash it down with some good stuff. The come up is a bit fizzy too...you can feel the bubbles in your stomach.

Jaff, I am a confirmed fan of e and champagne.
I'm sure there is no scientific studies done on e and champagne (as opposed to e and alcohol), but is commonly accepted that the carbonation of champagne (ie the bubbles) allows faster access to the bloodstream.
I figure that this can cause a short "spike" of increase in one's BAC (blood alcohol content) rather than a level plain of intoxification, like one would experience from tipping back beers or similar. I find a couple of well timed shots has a similar effect to champagne.
Either will give you a little kick in the guts so to speak, without major risk of the sedative effects of alcohol bringing you down.
I don't really like suggesting that others drink any type of alcohol whilst E'ing, as it works well for some and is a bit dodgy for others...aside from the diuretic effects that both E and alcohol have...blah...blah...blah.
But it works for me! Added bonus of the acidic cheap champagne that most places supply by the glass is that I find it helps clear the pasty mouth that e sometimes gives me.

there's a spakling merlot at the supper club which had to be the best e'ing drink ever... otherwise i pretty much agree with what everyone else has said, ie it works and its great

Champs go hand in hand with good MDMA pills for my mind.
Firstly as a come on for the pill and secondly a great pick me up to get the last remaining rushes when you think you're down and out and the pill has worn off.
Champagne is always consumed by me while pilling, i just don't see the reason why people don't do it more often.
Try it and see...

in answer to rikidozan' question before or during i guess. It does get more-ish (like all good things) and I agree with the comment above that it cleans out/stimulates the mouth far better than just about any other drink when you are high. The bubbles feel like your are drinking SpaceDust...you get that candy in Oz?
If we go out to a club/party then a bottle is usually awaiting at home to wash down that cheeky last half

hmmmm, luv champagne and e.....

i'm with sleeper on this one - i love having a glass when i'm just starting to come down off a pill. it always seems to pick it back up just a bit
so u guys reckon it's the bubbles? does anyone know if its got anything to do with the sulphur content? or is that just a misconception of mine?

amphetamines have an increased half life and remain ionised in a basic environment.
drinking alcohol maintains this basic environment in ur gut not allowing the metabolites of amphetamines to cross the intestine and into ur renal system to be excreted.so basically all the amphetamine remains in ur system to be further absorbed into the blood stream because less is being cleared by the body.
easy.
