So, just yesterday I got prescribed Paxil for depression and bi-polar. Since I already knew using SSIR's with DXM was liable to cause saratonine syndrome, I decided to pick up a bottle and do one more trip with some weed. (Since weed amplifies the fuck out of DXM in SWIM). SWIM was waiting night and was researching on the topic of just taking one pill and doing it and few hours apart. And I found a thread that had mentioned doing it and being fine so I didn't think it a big deal since one pill doesn't get the drug in your system. It supposedly takes 5 or more weeks to fully get in your system. So that's what I'm mainly curious about. I know I should of waited, but I was anxious to get started on the paxil being that I have been pretty depressed lately. And I've also read in some places of increase potency from having paxil. Though I would assume they they didn't have much either. The paxil SWIM is taking is 20mg per pill by the way.

SWIM took the pill last night and thought against doing the DXM. But wonders if it's been enough time from ingesting the pill. (dosed about 10 pm, it is now 4:39 the next day)?

Paroxetine (Paxil) is active as soon as it is absorb by your body, about 1h after swallowed the pill. The SSRI effect start from this point and taking Dextrometorphan is dangerous. What you mean is that Paroxetine take 1-2 weeks to get its full antidepressive effect. I would highly recommend not taking DXM. At best you will only get sick at worst you will get horrible symptom cause by Serotonin syndrome.

But you wouldn't think the amount taken would be enough totally absorbed into the body to cause such adverse reactions?

Come on guys, this question is pretty hard to find by searches alone. I've been searchin very hard to see if this could be dangerous. I read that the half-life for paxil is 21 hours. Since it has been 24 hours I am under the impression that it is safe to do the robo now. But I cannot get a detailed enough thread pulled up to know for sure.

I'm one of those people that if I feel my predictions are right, I'll go ahead with whatever I'm wanting to do. So, it would be really nice to know. Quare has already informed me that taking the one pill with the dxm could have adverse reactions, but now it is past the half life of the chemical. It is half denatured from its original chemical. Surely there must be a difference at this point to allow me to safely trip.

Half-life means, the time it takes for a molecule to lose half of there pharmacological effect. I would wait at least twice the half-life if not more.

I understand what a half-life is. But I thought being over half metabolized. the risk for serotonin syndrome would be drastically reduced. Or just the same. I wasn't sure. So I did it anyway cause I wasn't getting any answers. Nothing bad happened.
