DXM... wierdest thing EVER

DXM... wierdest thing EVER
ok... well i was following instructions on separating dxm from cough syrup. so i made a two batches from 7 8oz bottles of tussin.
4 bottles were for me, other 3 - for my friend.

followed instructions carefully, timely and ... not rushing.

came out as planned so we drank it.

hour passed, he started triping. i felt a light head buzz..
two hours passed, he was in lvl 3 plateau or something like that. he was good.
i was still only with a head buzz... so i went to walmart got me 3 bottles of 8oz tussin, and downed them with in an hour. then i fell asleep, and woke up about 8 hours later.... FUCKED up... i felt like i smoked 20 blunts and drank two bottles of everclear.... no COVs, no OVS, nadda... just plain fucked up.


what happened??? did i just poison my body and thats ... it or ??? i wanna do it again today, but im scared its gonna be pointless.
 
I'm guessing 7 bottles of Tussin happened ;)

I know nothing about DXM so will leave it to others to opine on but it sounds like you just took a lot to me - maybe the first dose took longer to comeup for you for some reason and the top-up was overkill? Also, not all trips are always visual everytime and I would presume that can apply to DXM too sometimes. May be wrong though cos I've never used it myself.
 
Well I made 2 different batches, one with 4 bottles other one with 3. And normally I been taking 4 bottles so it was nothing new for my body.

so --- 4 of extracted dxm
and ... 7 [ 3 not extractecd] lol...

I meant that if the initial 4 bottle dose just took longer to come up than you are used to for some reason or other then another 3 on top would make for a pretty heavy dose when the first kicked in properly. But as I said, I really don't know about DXM so will leave it to those who know more :)
 
Well, your answer is what i thought happened. but what i really wanna know, is like really what happened in my stomach.

also, i forgot to mention, i drank a good bit of grapefruit juice. also i done all that on an empty stomach.

normally i dont drink grapefruit juice, and i have lil food in my stomach. s

some say, that the trip is enhanced by grapefruit juice. maybe grapefruit juice ruined mine. im not sure, just trying to find some opinions.

also... lol.... maybe i finally reached my 50 [eit ] trip, where the magic is lost .... for some anyways.. dunno. might still do it tonight, and see how it goes. i assume that grapefruit juice is gone out of my system since its has been atleast 24 hours.

Grapefruit juice is a CPY2D6 inhibitor along with DXM, which means you're not going to metabolize it to DXO as readily. Instead, you're going to end up with a headfull of DXM and whatever methoxymethorphinan metabolite that is.

It sounds like you ended up with full sigma agonism like someone missing the 2D6 enzyme would and had slept off the peak effects.
 
Also DXM doesnt really produce OEV's like you would think.. its not like your typical hallucinogen visuals.
 
yeah, if you are up to 4 bottles for a decent dose, it might be time to take a break, at least long enough to get your tolerance down. But seeing as how that you didn't ask for that advice, I'll just say that since you only waited a couple hours after ingestion, there could have possibly been just a slow coming up on the extracted portion, and you just over did it with the top up as was said above.
 
i've taken amounts like that but after a few years of doing it everyday, it doesn't really hallucinogen-wise work(grapefruit juice and breaks can help me with that though), like 6 bottles would just get a drunk+morphine feeling at that was about it.
anything thats close to oev's that would happen is marcopsia and sometimes micropsia but mostly in darkness, flanging and strobing pink/green (usually have seizures at that point), also horizontal/vertical squashing distortion (that would go with the pseudo-alice-in-wonderland- syndrome visual effects, ive had oev's on sigma plateaus but thats not often, cev's is where its at.
 
You shouldn't take DXM and fall asleep , Try and dose it earlier in the day

You missed the whole trip pretty much during your nap

Must have been some wacky dreams :D
 
I wouldn't go as far as to say this guy is taking too much DXM.

I used to do DXM very rarely, but when I did, I would take 3 or 4 bottles of the pills. It may not be that his tolerance is up, but that he likes a hard trip.
 
i always try to hit 4th plateau. and its been... hmmm at least 30 or more times that i have been used dxm. and no bad trips as this. actually i done it about 5 times past july after a year long break
 
as i was making this batch... i realized, what might be the cause, why my last batch got me mild me high/sick. i just smoked some mj, prior making it, and ... on my last separation i might have kept
 
Try hitting the "edit" button...you don't need to post a whole bunch in a row. OIC - I'll combine your posts for you. Haha no I won't - I can't; I'm an OD mod not a PD mod. My bad.

Try taking a long-term break from DXM; it's not that great IMO.
 
Dont Re-dose after your initial robo.

Just wait longer for it to come up, dont worry because it WILL.
