Have been using the 60mg mucinex pills. they are great for small doses <400mg (due to the guafenesin in the pills, higher doses are not a good idea.
If you are familiar with using these pills, please explain what the package means by "bilayer extended release." Does that mean one half is DXM hBr, and the other half is DXM polisterix? (therefore, the extended release portion is only half as strong and twice as long, resulting in a 45mg pill instead of 60.)
OR
Does the other half simply kick in later, and it is 60mg of DXM hBr.
I know it's a tedious question, but to me it's important when it comes to calculating dosages for my friends and I.
