DXM extraction?

how do i get DXM away from the other chemicals in this pill? the pill doesnt have a name simply ingredients
pill code : 44-503
Acetaminophen 325 mg - pain reliever/fever reducer
Dextromethorphan 10 mg - cough suppressant
Guaifenesin 200 mg - expectorant
Phenylephrine 5 mg - nasal decongestant

this is a problem i need only the DXM enyone know enything?

I don't think you can do an extraction

-These are the syrup preparations, that have been tested and work with this method of extraction:
Robitussin Max Strength, Robitussin DM, Robitussin Cough - Long Lasting, CVS Brand Max Strength, Histal DM

The pills you have contain Acetaminophen and Phenylephrine and I'm not sure if this process will extract those . I wouldn't even bother with them.

Go out and buy a product that contains only DXM

Yes the proportions of DXM to other ingredients makes this formula pretty unsuitable. Never seen such a concoction really, and only 10 mg DXM?
Don't use these besides for what they're meant for and either get some pure DXM powder which isn't all that hard, or get a DXM-only product or one of the extractable preparations...

Cold water extraction will get rid of the acetaminophen.

As for the phenylephrine, it gets a bit trickier. I'm pretty sure it has a different pH than DXM, so you could try to find a weak acid which forms a salt with one but not the other (DXM/phenylephrine). Or you could try to find a solvent which dissolves one but not the other.

why even bother with this, just get straight dxm syrup or pills if those are available? unless you have like hundreds and hundreds of these around or are totally broke i dont get it.
