is it safe? I'm not on that much methadone right now, maybe took like 20mgs since yesterday, randomly been taking halves of 5's. would I be fine to do a 1st or 2nd plateau DXM trip? I also ate 25mg hydroxyzine ~30mins ago.

also, recently I've noticed that methadone only makes me sick, when it used to have no nausea. I noticed this after I'd done DXM a few times in a week. related? I feel like it's stronger now too

DXM is known to be used quite commonly to help with the maintenance and lowering of ones opiate tolerance. DXM can also potentiate an opiate experience on the lower end of a dosage for a recreational user of DXM the higher 100mg+ dosages will certainly have some heavy potential for the two to potentiate each other. As for the hydroxyzine this will just further sedation. Depending on your usage and tolerance this could barely touch you, to MOST people any anyone naïve to one or the other this is clearly a pretty huge dose but that isnt you.

Also id be remise as would anyone to tell you how you may react to such a dosage of multiple substances not knowing anything about you.

It shouldn't be dangerous no.

You can expect some fairly heavy sedation by combining the two. There shouldn't be any danger from respiratory depression, as this is not a primary effect of Dextromethorphan (DXM). Respiratory depression is generally what you're worried about when Opioids are involved, so i say have at it.

Dextromethorphan and Methadone are chemically related. They're like first or second cousins.

Opioids are known for their analgesic effects. Historically, the antitussive effects have also been very useful. Dextromethorphan came on the scene as a drug aiming to capitalize on the antitussive effects of Opioids, without the associated risks of addiction, impairment, tolerance etc.

Dextromethorphan is on half of the chiral substance "Methorphan" or "Racemethorphan" as it is sometimes called. The mirror image of this Dextromethorphan is Levomethorphan, which is actually a fairly potent Opioid that never saw clinical use in America at least.

In that same way, Methadone is a chiral molecule.

Levomethadone is a potent Opioid agonist, while Dextromethadone is essentially analogous to the Dextromethorphan that we are talking about now. Dextromethadone is also a fairly effective antitussive. To my knowledge, similarly high doses of Dextromethadone would cause similar effects to Dextromethorphan.

This is how they are related. I thought you might find this interesting.

Thanks for the information on chiral substances as well brother! Very interesting.

This is something I myself have wonder about the 2 together a few years back it was frowned upon or only mostly scene good in aid or other methadone for wd control or lowering of once tolerance.

I quickly did a few reads ups on both but nothing with distinct answer on the 2 except for one thing and that was to use the dxm before methadone. That seems to be a general consensus.

Now my interest comes from someone already on a maintenance dose, would the taking DMX before said dosage apply and especially the shorter half-life.

So my question, would a maintenance dose of methadone between 30-40mg/day benefit from dxm and hr prior to dose and what then would be a good dxm dose ( thinking 60-90mg ).

And from research so far most I can expect is more sedation. A potentiating effect.

And with all this said shouldn't dxm then help a lot with the lowering with one's maintenance dose also
