Before I get into the trip report, I want to explain a few terminologies. "Plateau X" is something me and a couple friends came up with while on DXM and it is just the mind set. It's the hightened state of the trip that you get when you are in the dark listening to trance music. It just feels like intense euphoric energy and "matrix" mind effects. ..And Kodie is one of my friends. Our doses of DXM were 4oz of Robotussin Maximum Strength Cough, and a bowlful of high grade herb during the DXM peak.
Me and Kodie had planned to do his first voyage into “Plateau X” sometime after I had
talked him into it this past week. He was getting increasingly excited about it, and I was
trying to get Matt to come out and experience it with us. After getting our product from
Wallmart, we contemplated about where we would stay. We decided that the Richmond
Cemetery would be the chosen place. When we got there, we drank our bottles and
awaited. The effects seemed a little slower to come on than in my past few experiences
but eventually we both made it to “Plateau X”. Kodie was blown away just as I was. He
thought it was an amazing feeling before we even reached the heightened state I always
talked about. I remember listening to my the new CD I burnt, specifically some
soundtracks from the old Super Metroid game. I saw the game in my head. I was the
game. Me and Kodie were lost within the code of electronics. We started to get into a
little “mind” conversation and then at the peak of our DXM trip we decided to smoke a
bowl. Was this a mistake, or a beautiful choice? I still don’t know.. It took me
completely by surprise and shattered my reality. I was living in the most mystical, yet
scary dream. I was in a cartoon. Me and Kodie stepped out of the car and walking
seemed nothing but strange. Everything was distorted like fuzz from a down TV channel.
We had only taken a few good hits from the herb. One thing I noticed was that I had no
urge to cough what so ever during smoking. The trip changed so much as we talked and
struggled to gain control. It was getting a little scary, but I knew that I had to remain
stable as well as Kodie. When we got back in the car and started jammin’ some Tool,
everything changed. I noticed that I was stuck in the middle of natural chaos, and
synthetic chaos. It seemed to blend perfectly yet repel violently at the same time. It was
pulling me and my reality was tearing from within. Nothing seemed real. It was like we
were the only people on earth. We were psychonauts. With every new setting, even as
little as sitting up from laying my seat back in the car, the trip changed. I was noticing
more of a psychedelic effect. DXM had brought out the hallucinogenic properties of
THC very strongly while adding something new to it. It was both real and fake, natural
and synthetic. It was then that I noticed that both me and Kodie had mind blowing closed
eye and open eye visuals. They were incredible. Mildly reminiscent of high dose
Mushroom visuals. We kept playing with our words in a way that we were saying
everything that our visuals saw. It was spiritual at times and me and Kodie were
“connected” stronger than I’ve ever been with anyone or anything. When we were
mouthing off visuals I remember going from “the statue of liberty,” to “rubber duckies.”
That’s just a small illustration of how insane our visuals were. We seemed to be in a
pretty strong time loop. Everything stood still. The herb brought laughter to the whole
thing. I never could laugh much on DXM alone. The herb seemed to brighten everything
up just like it does any other time. But the demon of DXM was still present within us.
We decided to get out for a moment and then go back to listen to some Type O Negative.
I remember feeling some of the effects wearing down. ..But not much. When the music
was off, me and Kodie were still rambling off visuals. He sometimes saw the same
things I did at the same times. It was showing me how much we really think alike. We
got out of the car at one point and it was then that I got my first wave or vibe of true
reality. That comforted me. There were times that I was peaking so hard and I
questioned my ability. But like always, I made it through. There were parts of the
combination that I absolutely loved. So many different highs.. And then there were parts
I loved and feared all the same. Soon, I was to attempt to drive Kodie home. That was
quite a task. I hate driving on DXM even after it wears down quite a bit. Overall, this
was a total mind blowing psychedelic/psychosynthetic spiritual experience.
