So the maker of the Vaporizer I recently ordered recommends letting your herb dry out first before using the vaporizer. He says that he just lets it sit out in a warm place (like on top of his tv) for 30mins to an hr. Would putting silica gel into the container I store my weed in work as well?

Drying bud further specifically for vapes isn't necessary at all. What you will discover is that if your bud is a little too wet to vape, the first "hit" you take will be the hit that dries out the bud. Then you can proceed normally after.

If you have a decent amount of bud you need to cure it first anyway before smoking it as this will improve the high and make it much more pleasant to smoke.

if you're just trying to dry it out leave it in a low humidity climate (anywhere dry). It'll be suffiecently dry to vape even in the condition you are explaining.

I've used desiccant to get my weed bone dry plenty of times. It works great.

I'm not sure why you would want to do this. It degrades the quality.

Part of the reason why we cure weed is to distribute the moisture throughout the bud uniformly. Dry bud would be very harsh (not sure about vaping though if I'm honest).
