Has the Discussion of various articles in this forum help you better understand the negative media bias against illegal drugs ?

We are trying to better understand if this forum is making any difference in debunking old myths and half truths that main stream media cosistently re-inforces on ignorant public.

Your participation and comments are welcome.

Ditto on the 'somewhat' category. News writers can somehow twist any story, drug related ones are certainly fair game. Cool post, Crazeeeeee

I fall into "somewhat" as well ... had you asked me before I became a DITM regular, I would have told you the media was likely biased, but through this forum and my readings I have seen to what incredible extent this holds true.
Especially notable, IMO, are the contrast between anti-drug articles prevalent in the mainstream media, and the pro-reform articles posted in no-name journals that only a handful of people read.

The battle is a bleak one, but spreading awareness is one weapon we have :)

Almost 100 views and 15 votes ? C'mon guys ! VOTE !!!

Now I'm not surprised at the super low voter turnouts in real elections.

But here, just press a button!

:)

I fall into the 'not really am fully aware of media bias' section, mostly because although I frequent this board, more in a reading than a posting sense there hasn't been too much that has surprised me on either side. Yes there have been some fantastic 'pro'-drug articles, 'pro' because they are rarely 100% pro, but hey, and they are equally weighed in by the useless government bigotry and uselessness which has become the norm.

CB.

I`m in the somewhat category myself, I knew that the media tried to spread propaganda about drug-use, but since I`m Dutch I haven`t seen much of it myself(there are not so many BS stories over here).

I think it`s terrible that(especially Americans I think) all the people that read these articles can`t get the true facts, people read these BS articles in serious newspapers and think it`s the truth, which makes it a lot harder for us(drugusers etc.) to try and spread the truth. It`s hard to spread the truth when all the people think what`s in the papers is true, and the papers say we are all idiotic mindless junkies and won`t believe us because of it
