Opioids Drug testing

Do employers typically dismiss prospective employees if they test positive for RX drugs even if prescribed by a doctor? I mean like codeine and not medicinal marijuana.

Yes...
I know we did at the hospital I worked at. I think insurance companies encourage it. Accidents at work and all that..

If you have a legitimate Rx you will not be dismissed, although there would almost certainly be bias in fields such as heavy machinery operators, truck drivers, military personnel, etc. In the US if you are able to fulfill the objectives of your employer you can not be discriminated against ....at least that's the idea.

PS No drug testing questions.
