I know oxycodone express, and all the other oxy pill prescription docs. (the youtube top docs if you type oc)
But feel free to recommend oxycodone docs or heroin use docs.

I need to see it so I can gain some more motivation to my 2 week detox off an oxycodone addiction,

If you haven't watched the episodes from Intervention that deal with people struggling with opiate addictions, then definitely search youtube for them. Type in things like 'A&E Intervention Heroin', or Oxy.

think of it this way…. after you break the physical addiction, you NEVER HAVE TO GO though opiate w/ds EVER again- that is as long as you don't use no matter what. I'm 2 weeks clean now and this is whats helping me

It's not a documentary but Requiem for a Dream is quite scary and not unrealistic either, although thats of course debateable.

The guy from OC express died, think his name was Todd? The one with the wife who died as well, think he had kids, sad.

Nothing really scares me as far as this goes, but, Facing The Habit is a good documentary to watch.

Black Tar one was probably the worst one...the oxycontin ones dont seem that bad tbh..

theres an older hbo docu its called 'A Life of Crime' its spends 8 years following around heroin junkies..its very good but depressing, it shows them robbing stores, shooting up and u know they dont meet a good end..

just finished watching, really sad man i feel sorry for them cuz they had some fucked up childhoods especially the girl who got sexually abused by her grandad it made me sick to my stomach. its a fucked up world we live in and sometimes we don't realise how lucky we are. i have never touched heroin or crack but dabble in speed every now and then but just lately i'm enjoying it less and less and i'm getting to the point now of quitting drugs all together even tho i only do stuff once in a while the comedowns are just filled with regret and guilt and its getting to the point that i'm not even enjoying it as much. who you hang around with definitely influences what you do and i'm gonna start spending time with more sensible friends.

all the drugs i got at the moment just little bits of mdma, pills and speed once that's gone thats gonna be it. gonna stop going to raves and skanky house parties and start some new hobbies up and start putting some effort into finding a nice girlfriend instead of skanky girls you meet at parties etc they only appeal to me when i'm fucked and after that i don't wanna know. i get so much satisfaction when i do something to improve myself or achieve a target or goal that i have worked hard for. thats a natural buzz that lasts a whole lot longer then one crazy night gettin on it.

addiction is something i've never experienced and something that i'd never let get a hold of me, i feel for people going through that struggle and never judge. just hope anyone that feels like there getting there just stop now before its too late.

Seen quite a few but 'Methadonia' shows [x] junkies on meth taking benzo's of older ages and it shows you the reality so clearly.

Haha I initially thought that you were looking for oxycodone or diamorphine docs, as in doctors to hand out scripts.

That documentary was really crazy, how a whole family just got ruined by oxys, I knew Todd would relapse and eventually overdose...the guy was heavy on that stuff. The part I still don't understand why did he always prefer to inhale it? Is it really that good to inhale vs oral admin? I tried snorting it a couple times but that really sucked I preferred to pop it, needles scared the shit out me any way so that was never an option but I've read that it was the best ROA.

OK, Requiem for a Dream has some of the nastiest drug related footage I've ever seen on the big screen! Leto is incredible in it! As for the best real life TV goes, "Intervention" is very well done and usually the first half hour is devoted to how screwed up the addict is, and it's usually pretty damn bad. As for the doc "Oxy Express", yes Tod did die a few years ago and before him, hot only his wife but also his brother. The poor Mom will probably never be the same but she tried to do what she could and she was very realistic about Tod's chances. I'm sure she saw that day coming, no doubt. I think she still maintains his FB page but she may have stopped by now.

There's no lack of powerful drug stuff on the tube if you look hard enough.

Has no one seen Reindeer Spotting: Escape from Santaland?
The documentary is about this Finnish guy who videotapes the life of his friend who is addicted to bupe and starts robbing people and shit for drugs, gets his fingers cut off. Steals a bunch of money and flees the country and has a lot of "fun". Pretty awesome film.

Just read through "The Dark Side" about opioid addictions and the worthless pain the accompanies it (without posting... unless you have something really constructive to say in a new post).

You're two weeks in man.... PAWS is all you face now, and it often is the mental battle which is most painful.

Good luck.

this is an awesome topic, i love watching drug docs. i've so far seen all the ones on the VICE website. some of those were pretty crazy but i'm not sure if they scare me. i'm just fascinated really. there was one on scopolamine on VICE which seems like a bizarre drug. damn i'm failing at remembering titles though. worlds scariest drug? maybe that was the title. and on the same site and youtube, the doc about the drug krokodil. that is cringe worthy, for sure. then there's hamilton from VICE (again) who investigates people getting high off of HIV drugs. that was interesting.

i'll have to check out the ones you guys recommended and i'll try thinking of suggestions too.

i watched a doc a while back with the white family, i think it was? anyone know which one i'm talking about?

more suggestions! i need to occupy my mind. been pulling lots of all nighters. tonight being one of them.

edit... just saw that this thread was started by you Lindsay and I hope everything's good! :)

Thanks for your recommendation, I've watched Intervention Canada S01E06 Conrad, thumbs up:)

This in itself has never been enough to stop me from using. I literally just went through W/D last week, used 2 days later.

Just get through it.... It's not worth it as in the end everyone just cares about feeling good themself. That selfish drive will lead even the most caring person to care only about themself. Please don't deprive the world of your love and care by chasing the love and care of what has none. By definition opiates are apathy or lack of feeling.

I am sure someone here has recommended it, but trainspotters is one of those movies with heroin where everything just goes wrong. there is also reqium for a dream, but that one goes a bit far out with the story and goes extreme with the nasty visuals for gross it factor. The withdraw scene from trainspotters really messed up I couldn't help find the execution a little funny.

Both I think are good recommendations. I also know of a video of the heroin addicts in the tenderloin of San Francisco, but an acquaintance showed it to me at one point. If you find any documentaries in that area you will cringe at how easy it is to find something as well as get ripped off.
