Hey all just wanted to ask if anyone's driven from vancouver to calgary around this time of year ?

Me and friends are planning on driving tomorrow night, leaving from vancouver at 10pm and arriving in calgary around 12pm...
we made this drive in the summer time but conditions are very different now. Driving through the rockies in the snow could get ugly. I have been checking out the highway cams and it's pretty good looking up until revelstoke.

We'll be in a Yaris equipped with tire chains. Bad idea?

thanks for any advice whatsoever. we have little experience with driving in snow.

It's all winding mountain roads until you get around the Banff/Canmore area, at which point it's divided highway. Conditions can change quickly. Also, depending on which route you take, there can also be some very strong winds.

Check AMA for conditions, and give yourself lots of time. It's still early in the year, so it shouldn't be too bad, but who knows?
