Hello,
my old account says invalid so i made this new account just to ask this question. Just a quick background I'm an ex heroin addict who has been on loperamide maintenance for about a year now. I'm not sure why I never got off of loperamide I guess I'm just so used to not withdrawaling that I have just put it off. I USED to take from 20-30 a day but for the past 2 months I've gotten down to 12 (24mg) a day which i'm assuming is pretty low.
For the past 3 days I haven't been feeling myself at all. I've been maintaining my typical dose and it's getting to be winter and i had severe insomnia, discomfort, chills, aches (extreme muscle aches) and I was starting to wonder if the loperamide had stopped working. I thought that maybe the extreme muscle aches and also a bad ache in my back (spine area) was because for 2 days I ate a propylhexadrine (benzedrex) cotton and might have been dehydrated? but after 3 days of 2 hours a sleep a night I decided to take 70 loperamide. I know it wasn't a very bright thing to do but I was so tired of feeling achey, cold, and tired that I just wanted a quick escape and boy did I get it. I slept great, and all day since I took it last night I've been in a very comfortable, warm, yet drowsy sort of state that is enjoyable. Trust me I am not going to make a habit out of doing this, actually, it was kind of fun to have a reminder of how good opiates are and until I did this taking 70 I never realized how much abuse potential loperamide has.
My question is, I'm eventually going to taper to zero but if I'm taking 12 (24 mgs) a day and take a random LARGE dose (40 or 50) will I have trouble going back to taking 12 a day? or will i experience some sort of rebound withdrawal from having a day of which i took a large dose? has anyone else had this?
