Does the oils from your forehead really make the 'foam go down'?

So this has always been done whenever I'm with a group of friends funneling beer.

once the beer is poured into the funnel, there's a lot of foam, well I was told by a older sibling that if I wipe my forehead, then tap the foam with my fingers, then in theory the foam will go down.

now I'm no rocket scientist, but would like to hear what everyone has to say about the topic.
