Misc Does GBL burn?

I am unsure how to differentiate between "other drugs" and "basic drug discussion", so I may be posting this in the wrong sub forum.

So I have the option of obtaining BASF GBL for a ridiculous price, or some Chinese GBL for a reasonable price. I was wondering, does GBL burn? I've read about this on another forum, but no one seems to know what they are talking about. I'd like to be able to get the cheap GBL and distill it myself, but I only have a still, no vacuum. GBL's boiling point is around 200C. Will distilling this normally cause it to burn?

This is harm reduction because I don't want to harm myself ingesting impure Chinese GBL.

Generally distilling anything organic with a b.p. over about 150 will result in some charring. The pot will have to be much hotter than 200C to achieve a head temperature of 200.

Also just because it's from China doesn't mean it's guaranteed to be dirty... where do you think BASF buys their shit?

Get a water aspirator if you are going to be distilling high b.p. stuff, even a moderate vacuum can help.
