Do you think consuming illicit substances make your life better?

Yes. I don't do sober well, heh. :|

The only shitty bit is the money thing. I was quite happy with my heroin habit, which just became too large. $200 a day really sucks the life out of you!

Think that's why most people resort to devious activity for their habits, which imo is when your drug use becomes a problem. But, I guess I'm on the same boat as you as well. I find that my daily drug use makes me more motivated to do my daily activities and then when I go a long time doing certain drugs on and off, it seems as though my problems begin. 8(

Well it hasn't made the OPs grammar better...

As for me, ups and downs, but I think on average I've came out on top.. above what would have happened had I gone the sober (basically, casually drinking and caffeine) route. No way to know of course...

No, not illicit substances anyway. Mostly because keeping a solid supply and the money to support that supply are a big issue for the majority of people. Then there are issues of purity and such.

Pharms and lab tested RCs? yeah they make my life better, no question about it. I've had to learn quite a few hard lessons about drug abuse and dependence though before i started being responsible about my drug use. Still there are issues with money and supply but it's not nearly as bad as with illicit drugs.

In terms of broadening horizons / expanding the mind: definitely yes! Often feel like those that have never experienced anything mind-altering have a much more sheltered / naive take on life generally... but maybe I'm a bit biased ;)

Depends on the substance. Many drugs with higher addiction potential won't, but psyhedelics, empathogens, and entactogens could potentially cause a positive shift in perception for the user

Well the only illegal drugs i take these days are Cannabis and shrooms both of which definitely make my life better. Cannabis helps my bipolar disorder and trigeminal neuralgia and the nausea and vomiting i get with the pain. Shrooms help my bipolar disorder as well even weeks after i trip my moods tend to be more stable. They also stopped the migraines i used to get dead in their tracks. I used to get migraines as a kid as far back as i remember and i often had to go to the doctor to get a shot of Demerol+dimenhydrinate or Demerol+Stemetil to stop the pain and the puking. However the migraines totally went away when i first started tripping when i was 14. It was only years later when i actually read up on it that i put 2 and 2 together.

its all perspective, but i personally admire people who manage to feel happily fullfilled and interested with their lives and the things they do without the use of substances... mostly because i'm the type of person that cannot.

Yeah. Makes me have more fun. Makes me be more productive sometimes. :P :)

Yes, absolutely. I want to feel all the feels. Illicits help. Even in occasional, small doses, the experience and fun that is possible ascends sky high.

Hell yeah in moderation of course, mainly cannabis/hash and psychedelics and the occasional dissociative/opiate/MDMA session. To much drug use or high doses all the time or daily will just make me get tired of the drug/ramp up tolerance and depressed/manic so i have my limits still. Being sober is nice sometimes and is good for my body and mind but it also can get very boring and illicit drugs are a fun/easy/enjoyable way for me to unwind and enjoy myself more/feel more alive.
