do benzos have next day hangovers?

Normally, there is no hangover effect with alprazolam (Xanax) because it is a short acting benzo. But the amount you did was way too much and that's why you have a hangover. Alprazolam is effective at doses as low as 0.25 mg and 0.5 mg.

Benzos like diazepam, nitrazepam, clonazepam, or flurazepam usually have an hangover effect.

The day after doing 12 mg xanax, I'd feel mentally out of it and have difficulty concentrating on any sort of intellectual work. If you want to call that a hangover, then yes. But no nausea or headache.

I get "hangovers" from shorter acting benzos like xanax, but I consider it more of an emotional "hangover" when I come down from a lot of xanax I get depressed and my short term memory is almost non-existent. There are no physical hangovers I've ever had from benzos, other than withdrawals because I'm prescribed benzos and benzo withdrawals are fucking awful . In other words, no hangover comparable to alcohol, just half-lifes

Lol woke up for work late, prolly never woulda woke up lol thanks to my mom.....got to work I was in a idontgiveafuckmood lol. Makin dirty jokes and have everyone laughing, prolly thot I was drunk

The IDGAF mood can be mistaken as confidence... This is not bad.

But, dosing so high before a work day is really not smart. Always be prepared for a late evening wake up... LOL

Benzos are the only drug that seems to have a nice after glow the next day. People say MDMA has a nice after glow the next day but i don't buy it, i always have a feeling of lowness and just feel emotionally dull. But for me benzos just give me a nice relaxed next day, especially if i mixed it with alcohol.

Long acting benzos don't give hangovers in the traditional sense, but you will certainly still be "benzoed out" the next day. The shorter acting ones don't really cause anything, unless a slight amount of rebound anxiety/insomnia could be considered a "hangover". That doesn't apply for users who don't have a dependency for the benzo in question, of course.

Either or, the after-effects of benzodiazepines are, without a doubt, better than the after-effects of ethyl alcohol. :)

there can be a bit of a mental haze but in no way is it a hangover like you get from alcohol.
There's lasting effects, for example, if you are using them to sleep and then have to wake up earlier than expected. Taking a large benzo dose but then only sleeping 4 hours.. you may feel groggy in the morning, just slow in general for an hour or so until you can really wake up.

For people who drink coffee or other uppers in the morning then this really isn't so much of a problem.

From a student's perspective I have certainly felt the mental numbness once or twice from taking a high benzo dose the night before; that said it's hardly a problem if its something you can control but could see it being an issue if you are heavily addicted.

Do you even remember what you did after taking that much Xanax. I took 9 mgs once and I woke up the next morning on a inflatable bed in my neighbors pool, covered in mud and had apparently shaved half of my face and left the other half hairy.

its been noted that the after effects are considerably better than those associated with alcohol, however, in terms of withdrawals from addiction, just search the forums here. Benzo addiction is not a road you want to go down

i took in excess of 15 mg of generic xanax because it wasn't doing anything (new generic formulary supplying my pharmacy). It must have hit at once even though the doses were taken 3mg at a time over a periof of time and I went unconcious without feeling it begin. I woke up feeling like my eyes are dry and swollen, depressed, disoriented and exhausted. I feel awful and my day is ruined. Has anyone else had this type of "hangover" from generic xanax and are there generic versions that work better than others?

Hey this is a old post ..you might find your answer if you read the thread..it is about the question you just asked
