The here and now
I'm just wondering, not that I plan on doing them but I'm curious. I heard that they make you trip similar to LSD. Do bath salts distort your mental perception of the world like LSD or DMT or even DXM? Or is it just a really profound high like? The most common description I've heard is that it's like meth and cocaine combined times ten as it works by not only flooding your synapse with dopamine like meth but also by inhibiting the reuptake of dopamine like cocaine. But does it make you trip?

It's not even remotely close to being like lsd, dmt, or dxm.
I've heard is that it's like meth and cocaine combined times ten .
That pretty much describes what the experience is like.
They contain powerful stimulants. It could be a wide range of different drugs and you don't know which ones you are getting which is why if you are going to mess with them get the pure chems not those overpriced packages with cartoon characters on them.

Just about every stimulant has the propensity to cause delusions and hallucinations. They can be caused either by the effects of the drug or from sleep deprivation.

Its hard to know what's in the bath salts you're using, butive heard that most of the bath salts in the united states are MDPV or something like it.

.
MDPV provokes an unusually strong urge to redose compared to other stimulants. This leads to higher consumption and longer periods of time without sleep.

Being extremely sleep deprived can cause these issues in its own right, so to answer your question, bath salts can cause intense hallucinations. How similar to LSD these hallucinations are is debatable though

if they are sleep deprivation 'hallucinations' they are nowhere near lsd.

Wow, so drugs like MDPV are like "coke and meth combined times ten"? Why aren't they more popular then?

the reason these drugs aren't very popular when sold as "bath salts" is that the labeling, packaging, etc is so low grade, there's no quality control, it's often cut with all sorts of fillers, and the active chemical can vary even between 2 packages of the same "brand". plus there have now been lots of bad press about them.

generally people who do these drugs try to get them in pure-ish form from research chemical vendors, so you have some clue of what you're getting & can dose it effectively. mephedrone, MDPV, and methylone were the top 3 active ingredients, although they are banned almost everywhere now.

mephedrone and methylone do have some effect on serotonin release so can cause hallucinations at higher doses. MDPV is a straight up stimulant but it can make people go into delusions and have massive panic attacks, etc. there are many reports of people taking "bath salts" and then going on rampages or attacking police officers, sometimes they harm or kill themselves without being fully aware of what they're doing either.

some people find that MDPV especially is not really euphoric the same way cocaine or methamphetamine is, it just leaves them getting really spun out and yet wanting to take more.

these drugs do also cause people to be sleep deprived and can put stress on your body if you're not eating properly. they're actually quite risky when sold as "bath salts" so that's why people advise against buying/using them that way. besides you don't generally want to support the "companies" selling them financially.

Yeah, not to mention - besides beings a mixture of god knows what chemicals (probably whatever they have that illegal that they're trying to get rid of - or a mixture of legal rc's -at this moment in time- mixed together with no real quality control or even proper mixing (so that the ingredients are evently distributed). Not to mention crappy otc stimulants like caffiene powder, and inert/non-psychoactive crap as cut - the most common complaint (besides unexpected reactions/hospitalizations etc etc) is that they're INCREDIBLY salty - because they use EPSOM SALTS (I cant say all - but every report Ive read on a 'labeled' brand with no hint as to what the ingredients are) lol the only thing thats really "Bath Salt" about these products.

I must be the exception - granted, I was one of the unlucky few who really really enjoyed A-PVP, who never got to try MDPV - I can still say A-PVP was one of the most euphoric enjoyable drugs Ive ever used, and I always had a good time, but I learned my lesson with the o
Seriously though - stay away from the branded crap - not only for what I said above - but even if you find the diamond in the rough thats a real good product - they change from batch to batch. I would SERIOUSLY doubt you'll ever get two of the same 'blends' (if you will) in a row - they toss whatever they've got in there knowing someone will buy it, and really dont care if you get sick, die, or get ripped off.
