If an adult died, didn't have a will, but specified in a note that they did not want their parent to have any say in their funeral or obituary, would those wishes be granted? Or would the authorities just ignore it?

i can't speak with absolute certainty but i would be willing to wager a large sum the authorites (who do you mean? police, courts, who exactly?) would ignore that kind of request.
