Recently I was lucky enough to find a small amount of DMT, which happened to be enough for 9 experiments. The first was a small dose, probably less than 10mg, smoked with poor technique on some foil. The second was an 85mg oral trip, taken with moclobemide, which resulted in an overall ++ experience with several breif periods when I would get sucked into a very intense, strong +++ trip. I also experienced limited, weak entity contact during that experience. I wrote trip reports for both of those experiences.

My 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th experiences all occured within a two hour time period, each time with between 5mg and 7mg smoked on a small amount of cannabis. I found that experience, or series of experiences (if you don't think I'm cheating by counting them as seperate), to be highly enjoyable.

So a few nights later I decided to get a bit deeper into DMT space. But, I only had a small amount of DMT left. 24mg to be precise. This may sound like a small amount of DMT to you - and it certainly is. But if there was one thing I learned a few nights earlier it was that a little bit of DMT goes a long way. One thing to consider is my technique smoking the DMT on top of cannabis. I am positive that this potentiates the DMT experience by an unquantifiable degree. I have no doubt that it flavors the experience, and I'm not sure if this is for the better or not. I would probably not smoke a much larger dose of DMT combined with cannabis for fear of too much anxiety and confusion during the trip. Regardless, I had a truly amazing experience the way I did it.

This evening I also planned to leave less time between smoking DMT. If I remember correctly, I smoked my 24mg of DMT in two parts, each approximately half of the material sprinkled on a small bowlpack of moderately potent cannabis. But I was quite stoned before I even started smoking the DMT so I was certainly fully affected by cannabis during the DMT experience. I should probably also mention I took an unweighed dose of Piracetam, for the first time in several weeks, about 10 hours earlier, probably around 1.5 grams.

I took my first hit... holding the flame above the DMT as I drew, to burn it as slowly as possible and melting it rather than setting it on fire right away... hold it in for 15 or 20 seconds... and blow it out slowly, savoring the oddly delicious flavor of the DMT/cannabis vapors. I repeat, this time starting to burn the material and drawing a bigger lungful of smoke (I discovered a few nights earlier that this method works just fine, and in fact seems almost nescessary to get all of the DMT out of the half-burnt weed). As I hold the smoke in, I can feel my mind start to expand beyond the boundaries of my skull. By the time I blew it out I was surrounded by movement and bright colors.

Objects on my desk were squirming around as if I were peaking on a couple grams of really good shrooms. Except they were a bit livelier, brighter, and happier on DMT. Transparent neon colors, especially blue and yellow, forming vague and blurry geometric patterns were suspended in the air before my eyes. Every so often I would see a small glowing ball of light dash across my field of vision or a pair of weird eyeballs pop in and out of existence in some random location. I perceived these as entities, but that I had not smoked enough to really get a better look at these things.

It was also difficult not to notice the fact that I was extremely high. DMT feels similar to LSD, in the sense that the high is very much concentrated in your head. However, there is no "body load" to speak of. DMT feels so natural on the body. There was definitely a buzzing sensation, a floaty, fluid feeling, and a sensation that my consciousness was extended across a larger space. It feels good, but I do not find there is a huge euphoric push or forced mood lift. Most positive feelings are a result of the experience itself, not a nescessary part of the drug's effects.

So I put on some music. I listened to Grateful Dead, some Phish, and other mostly-live hippie music over the course of the next hour or so. I found that the DMT, no doubt enhanced by the cannabis, made my music sound absolutely amazing, and made me feel like I was in the crowd, sitting outside on the grass on a sunny summer day, experiencing a concert live among a crowd of groovy people.

I don't know why I decided to mess around in Photoshop at this time. But it was fun, and I enjoyed the visuals looking at the computer screen. I realized how strange and kind of lame it was to be on my computer during a DMT trip, and also realized I am pretty much tied to my computer for a lot of the time when I don't have anything else to do. But I continued to use the computer anyway.

The effects of the DMT were still going strong, and I thought I better smoke it soon if I want to get any higher on this stuff before I run out. DMT seemed to erase my concept of time. It seemed like I had "done too much stuff" after smoking the first bowl of DMT to still be feeling it this strong. I found, looking at the clock, that my estimates of elapsed time were always much longer than reality. Also, I believe the cannabis extends the length of DMT's action. I ate 3mg of Melatonin, hoping it would kick in after the DMT had worn off, to help me sleep. Then I went to pack some fresh greens in my bowl with the second half of my DMT.

Oops! I'd forgotten I still hadn't finished the first bowl! I finished off the cannabis in a couple more hits, along with a very noticeable amount of DMT which raised me right back to the intensity of my first peak (which had died down a bit in the time it took me to arrive at this point). I chilled out for a couple minutes, noticing increased entity activity in the air around me. This was actually very distracting, because it seemed like they were fond of sneaking up on me.

But I didn't wait long to pack those fresh greens and put the remaining ~12mg of DMT on top of it. I took it all down in three or four big hits.

By the time I'd blown out the second to last hit, I noticed my bed was levitating. By the time I'd blown out my last hit, there was a river, formed of psychedelic patterns, flowing through my floor. The high was getting too intense for me to sit at my desk any longer so I quickly made a playlist on my computer that would last about 30 minutes, and then I made my way over to my bed to lie down.

I experienced a sensation like my body was being gently, yet persistantly pulled up into space. I would have loved to have enjoyed this sensation and meditated in this state of being, but there were far too many distractions. The amount of activity in the air, consisting of flying glowing energy balls, fluid transparent amorphous shapes - one of which remained just over my right shoulder, and followed me into the bathroom as I stood above the toilet and did my business - let's see, what else? Oh yes, plenty of pairs of glowing eyes popping in and out of existence in random places. I wouldn't ever take DMT without expecting to see those... Well, in general there was just a whole lot of things flying through the air, usually at such a quick speed that I couldn't help but divert my attention towards it. That meant I spent a lot of time lying in my bed with my eyes fully open, darting around in partial amazement, partial intimidation at all these "phenomena".

My intimidation simply came from the fact that they always snuck up on me! Honestly, seeing a pair of glowing cat-like eyeballs pop out of something is more creepy than "cool" for me. The zooming energy balls were allright, except that every once in a while one of them would flash very brightly and a couple of times that startled me. The fluid amorphous blobs were probably my favorite, although I didn't like how they (or maybe it was just one, I never saw more than one of these at once) liked to linger over my shoulder. Also I asked it not to follow me when I took a piss but it did anyway.

So, I spent what felt like a really long time lying in bed watching these entities. I couldn't really get much "deep thinking" done, although I did have plenty of trippy streams of thought that I can't remember now. My tapestries were in a state of constant reconfiguration and movement. At one point my tapestry turned into the Grateful Dead dancing bears... except not exactly the same. Anyway, they were a weirder version of the dancing bears, but they were definitely dancing.

After a while I noticed that the neon color patterns before my eyes had reappeared, and come back much more clearly defined. This time the pattern was unmistakeable. It was the chrysanthemum that I've read about many times in other DMT reports.

I perceived this chrysanthemum as a dome, made of interlocking almost-triangles, which seemed to be suspended five to ten feet above and to the front of my head. I realized that this was only a cross-section of a tunnel-of-sorts, with one end coming out of my forehead, and the other end extending deep into space. I couldn't tell if it was a one-way or two-way connection. It seemed like my soul was a projection of my actual existence which was deep in space... so that I could make use of my human body, for whatever reason.

During this time I was experiencing auditory hallucinations in the form of beeps, whirring sounds (made by the glowing balls of energy), and strange muffled spoken language. I thought this was fascinating, but it also made me feel a bit schizo.

Well, the melatonin was starting to kick in, which seemed to be interacting with the remaining DMT, giving me a somewhat dissociated, sinking feeling which was neither enjoyable nor unenjoyable. The entities were still visible for quite a while, much longer than I expected any smoked DMT trip to last. I tried to close my eyes to see if sleep would be possible soon, and I saw a strange, mole-like beast crawling it's way towards me with pretty sharp claws. Maybe ten minutes after that I was able to close my eyes and see nothing other than a few colored blobs, and I was able to drift off to sleep very easily. I'd say I was still at a solid ++ from the DMT until about an hour after smoking it. And it's hard to limit a trip to a "++" rating when there are entities around.

...

I didn't get any extraordinary lessons out of this trip, just like all my other DMT experiences. I found all the entities I encountered basically useless and distracting. However I would try to be very careful setting expectations on any future experiments. I did find it somewhat recreational: music euphoria was great, visuals were beautiful, colors were bright and the buzz feels nice. On some levels it was very much like being dropped into the peak of an LSD trip. But I find it hard to relax around so much strange life. Perhaps if I got used to these entities, or they actually made meaningful contact with me it would be a different story.

The best part of the trip was the experience of viewing, and being attached to the chrysanthemum. I believe I gained some insights into the nature of our purpose as human beings, and this trip has only reaffirmed my belief that death is nothing to fear, and humanity is but a strange stop on our continuing journeys.

That sounds like an awesome experience and I think it may be the report that has truly made me realize I want (no... need) to try DMT as soon as possible. Sounds like such a clear trip and much more controlling than 5-MeO-DMT.

Can the visuals form into true hallucinations to the eye? When you see something that is alien/abstract, does it linger, or is it a quick flash in your mind before it disappears into something else?

I have yet to experience any form of entity contact on a substance and I'm definitely looking forward to it.

Some of them, like the eyeballs popping out of objects, are pretty much a quick flash and then return to normal. Others, like the fluid amorphous blobs floated around pretty slowly, or even stayed still. So pretty much as long as I fixed my attention on that entity it was visible. If I looked away or got distracted it might be hard to locate again, but it seemed to always be around.

The glowing energy balls literally filled the air. There must have been thousands of them. Most of them were very faint, and just formed light streaks across my vision, but some of them were more distinct and I could probably watch them fly around for 5-10 seconds before they faded out, or flew through a wall or something.

But, quick answer: Yes, you actually see these entities and are pretty much surrounded by them.

Also, your mileage may vary, but I doubt it ;)

Oh yeah, visuals could turn into pretty much straight-up hallucinations. But they were totally psychedelic in nature, like the trippy dancing bears that my tapestry turned into.

DMT is powerfully visual, moreso than any other psychedelic I've experimented with. That isn't to say I haven't had more impressive visuals from LSD at certain points, but keep in mind the doses I was working with are far from what most DMT pioneers considered a "full dose". I am sure a dose just a little larger than what I smoked would blow everything else out of the water.

Also, these trips have somewhat sparked an interest in 5-meo-DMT for me. Like I said, I didn't find the entities especially helpful or like they were a positive part of the trip.

If there was a DMT that had the body feeling, visuals, and "chrysanthemum" consciousness-/-space connection, minus the entities, it would really be quite recreational I think.

great report gotta try it myself! would you suggest starting off on doses you describe? It truly sounds awesome, how would you compare it to salvia because i really find salvia opressive or is there no comparison. Thanks for a another gripping report,

peace

^^
Thanks :)

psychonaut65, sorry I don't really have a suggestion for the dose you start with. I personally like to get my feet wet with strong psychedelics before I dive all the way in. I found this to be (somewhat) possible with DMT, as long as you act responsibly (milligram scale). But most others seem to suggest 40-50mg right off the bat, and just going for the full experience. So you should decide what sounds best to you. I personally see no harm in a "light" DMT experience, if you can call it that.

I find DMT and Salvia about equally weird and potentially threatening, just in different ways. Both will kick your ass rather quickly. I have experienced entities on Salvia and they didn't bother me as much as the DMT entities... even when I broke through on Salvia and turned into a thousand plant-eyes who were slaves to the Shadow God it didn't really freak me out.

However, the strange gravitational force that seems to yank me right out of my seat on Salvia seems more forceful than the expansion of consciousness that occurs quickly after a smoked DMT dose.

The main difference seems that DMT is purely and stereotypically "psychedelic". It is also more visual at sub-breakthrough doses. Salvia seems darker, more mysterious, like it's spirit is indeed tied to a plant. Whereas DMT seems like it gives you access to countless spirits/entities... although I find it interesting that D.M. Turner believes DMT is actually a water spirit.

WOW. I was totally engrossed while reading this, as always. You have an uncanny ability to be able to go back over your experiences with a metaphorical "fine tooth comb". I could never in a million years recall the details of my experiences as clearly as you can.

Anyway, I was greatly fascinated by this. I think I have an understanding of what DMT is like...

I heard someone on the Shroomery once say "I've tried all these things that play games with my consciousness, like LSD, shrooms, etc. These are all mere novelties compared to DMT. DMT is IT." Would you agree with that?

Would you say you noticed any tolerance from smoking the doses in such a short timeframe? I realize it might be hard to distinguish with a compound like DMT, but I'm curious.

I was also rather surprised to hear that you didn't have too much interest in the "entities"? So you say they were distracting... meaning that you really just felt like laying back and "experiencing" the DMT, and they wouldn't let you? That's a damn shame. :(

Although it would seem to me as if the entities are just part of the DMT experience, for better or worse... either learn to live with them, or simply don't visit their world. :\

Excellent report as usual.
Im supposed to be trying DMT very soon if everything works out as planned and this report has gotten me real excited.

Do you plan on trying higher doses (40+ mg)?

Excellent report with great attention to detail. DMT is next on my psychedelic "list". After all my salvia is gone, i plan on attempting an extraction of DMT from some mimosa hostilis rootbark for smoking, or just buying some harmala seeds and making Ayahuasca, neither of which i've tried.

DMT i definately need to experience.

I still find LSD *much* more useful in a productive sense. Sure, DMT takes you to a stranger place... but who knows what "IT" is. Maybe DMT? What about 5-meo-DMT? Salvia? I think all these chemicals, including LSD, mushrooms, mescaline, etc., show us a part of the big picture. Sometimes these parts can be so impressive and spectacular that they might seem like the entire big picture, and make you think, "Wow, this is IT".

I read that it is not recommended to redose DMT right away, as supposedly it will work, but not allow you to break through to hyperspace. Well, I wasn't aiming for hyperspace anyway, so it worked just fine. Redosing on DMT certainly works far, far better than shrooms, LSD or any of the tryptamines that seem to develop very quick tolerance.

I don't know if the entities were intentionally distracting me... it was just hard not to be distracted. Learning to "live with them" if I want to take more DMT is probably good advice. However, I believe 99% of these entities actually are pretty much useless and distracting. Some of them might even be trying to keep you from seeing the bigger picture. I have read reports where other travelers have said to these entities, "Let me pass!" and eventually they did, and allowed him to enter a much deeper trip. I never tried telling the entities to go away for fear of "fighting the trip", although on a higher dose I would probably try to channel some shamanic/supernatural power to elevate my position among all these other entities.

Well, I plan to work my way up to these kinds of doses. Who knows if I will even need to go this high, as I'm pretty sensitive to tryptamines.

I may also like to try another 85mg oral + MAOI trip, but this time with harmaline instead of moclobemide.

5-MeO-DMT is definitely the most useful, rewarding, fantastically wonderful psychedelic I have done. DMT was interesting and profound in its own way, but it was never rewarding or life-changing in the way 5-MeO-DMT is. Of couse, I've only smoked DMT. I am sure oral DMT is a whole different ballgame.

What if psychedelics were really neurological zip files to prepare us for alien contact...

I mean what if Jesus were an Alien?

What if angels were really aliens..

And the Devil was a Jailed alien...??

Crazy???

Absolutely...

Nothing else makes sense...however

A huge portion of the plant life on this planet is psychedelic.

And anybody who have more than a cursory exposure to all that is psychedelic KNOWS that there isn't the trace of random to it...

Psychedelics are very deliberate, very on purpose...

AND regular non-human animals seem to know an want to get high also...(maybe getting high advanced evolution somehow)

Maybe a one cell organism got high and wanted to move on to better things...

maybe the fishy decided to come ashore cause they thought maybe they get high...(and get laid)

I used to think that animals just ate, slept and fucked, but it seems that when there not doing that there trying to catch a buzz or alleviate pain.

fascinating shit...

DMT is awesome... sorry if i don't make sense, but i'm veeeery engrossed in a roll right now...
DMT can be split into 2 diff. types of trips... psychidelic or hyperspace. psychidelic is usually less than 50mg doses smoked, however a breathrhough dose is 50-60mg and sometimes even more. And you'll be a little more than freaked out if you try about 100mg. :D i know, i've been there... i've also smoked 2 mg of 92%pure salvinorin-A... RIDICULOUS STYLE UNIVERSE TRAVEL!

I had that exact thought the first time I properly had mushrooms. :)
