Benzos Diphenhydramine on Benzos?

I have a few questions about taking the OTC sleep aid/ antihistamine Diphenhydramine (DPH).

Will taking DPH act like taking opiates/other depressants with benzos and be highly risky to engage in? Would taking DPH and benzos only potentiate the hypnotic and thought-dulling effects and not the anti-anxiety effects? And on a semi-related note, would benzos give the same "Trip wall" to DPH?

Diphenhydramine is not in anyway similar to benzos alcohol or barbiturates . Diphenhydramine at low doses decreases histamine and high doses block muscarinic acetylcholine receptors increasing heart rate increasing blood pressure increasing seizure risk increasing body temperature.
 
Diphenhydramine is extremely useful in reducing tremor in people on antipsychotics who would be at risk of psychosis on dopaminergic drugs. And improving the antitremor effect of dopaminergic drugs In parkinsons. And at low doses preventing nausea and vomiting and flushing from meds like opiates. And improving the effects of epinephrine in acute allergic reactions.

If ur taking enough to hallucinate your likely just ruining the benzo effects by massively increasing sympathetic tone
