Away from you
I have taken dipenhydramine around 6 times. My first couple times I felt really heavy(around 250 mg) but my After that the feeling went away. Does anybody know why that happens even after stopping for a month and retrying. Also when I take 400 mgplus I always see spiders and waving walls. How come so many people see spiders and insect but usually nothing else. It really dosnt make any sense. Does anybody know why spiders and insects seem to be the main hallucinations people see?
Thanks for your time!

OTC sleeping pills are a ridiculous thing to be taking such a high dose of. You only see spiders because youre taking too much.
I never asked if you like it or not.( although I welcome your opinion) I just want to know why spiders and not pink elephants? I am taking it to see things not to sleep. I'm not TRYING to be a dick although I feel I am being one.... Sorry :)

For some reason I actually enjoy a moderate dose as a sleeping aid. 150-200mg makes me kinda hallucinate with my eyes close just slightly as I quickly drift off into sleep, without much trouble falling asleep like I do sometimes. Like randoms sounds will come and go it's kinda cool, I actually did it every day this past week and musta fallen asleep within 10 minutes max each time, where as usually it takes me 30 minutes or more to fall asleep. I actually began looking forward to taking the dose and going to sleep lol...

I don't think you are being a "dick". I shouldn't have given you such a short answer. What my answer really meant was that there are other things you could take, to get better effects you are looking for; but wouldn't have to take such an unhealthy amount.
But I know my answer wasn't what you were looking for Mortal; please accept my apologies -didn't mean to be harsh!

It's ok man I just took it the wrong way, so please accept my apologies.

Diphenhydramine causes anti-cholergenic (sp?) delirium, I'm surprised you enjoy that as that state terrifies me.

Ya from what I've read about it also surprises me that I enjoy it. :) I don't know why but I like the visuals and the feeling it gives me oddly enough.

I know this isn't what you want to hear, but if you're gonna do something for the visuals, don't use diphenhydramine. Look for a real psychedelic because Benadryl can be dangerous in high doses. Aside from the delirious state it puts you in (which is dangerous in itself), it also damages your kidneys and severely increases your blood pressure which puts you at risk for a heart attack. It's best just to stay away from it and use a proper psychedelic, if anything.

I agree, try an RC hallucinogen. Methoxetamine, similar to ketamine, would be a LOT more fun that diphenhydramine. Or maybe you can try any number of those tryptamines or AMT/PCP things.

I would love to try those especially the MXE but I'm afraid the hallucinations would freak me out and I'd never recover from the experience.

If you stop benadryl for a month, you could get a similar effect as when you first started, but you'll get used to it quite quickly again. Also, you'll begin to feel negative effects in short time. Restless arms and legs will drive you crazy and make it hard to sleep, and you might pack on a few pounds to boot. I'd personally pick something different to get delirious effects.

Benadryl gives me a really strange feeling while laying down after I take it.. also makes me have very vivid dreams but nothing involving spiders. Then again I've never taken it recreationally, nor do I like to take it at all. If you've heard of numerous people seeing spiders and waving walls after taking it that's probably in your sub-conscious hence why you see the same thing.

I unfortunately know exactly what the OP is talking about here, though I've never used diphenhydramine for recreational reasons, but rather for insomnia. I never experiences any of the deleriant effects until it took 200mg to make me feel sedated. At that dose I started to feel a slight drunken discoordination, as well as what looked like breathing surfaces on my walls and floors. When 200 mg didn't cut it, I raised the dose just 12.5 mg, and then I started to mistake certain objects (like my cellphone charger) for giant insects, which was horrible because I'm terrified of bugs. I also would experience an increases heart rate, shallowness of breath, and anxiety.

In short, diphenhydramine does cause visuals, and weird intoxication, but it is not recreational at all IMO. If you can't get DMT, LSD or Shroom's, and you absolutely NEED to get twisted off of some OTC drug, then go for DXM, cause its a hell of a lot better than Benadryl.

I'd say bugs because it's just any easy misunderstanding for the brain to make. Is that a black spot on the wall? NO SPIDER! Easily confused given that a spider is a black dot with very thin legs coming out of it, pretty easy conclusion to your delusional brain to come to in an attempt to try to explain the blur around said black spot.

When I took too much diphenhydramine once I had freaking audio hallucinations, the most prominent of which was people saying my name, freaked me out.

I think most people see bugs on Benadryl and also on some motion sickness pills because it is a common primal fear or dislike we all share. For me it was cockroaches everywhere. I'd feel them too. Laying in bed with the lights out I would feel one scurry across my body and I would freak and turn the light on and there would be hundreds of them all over my bed and pillow. This went on for hours all night long. That was enough to convince me not to ever do that shit again LOL

I've taken diphenhydramine in dosages of 500mg+ and like you, I enjoyed the buzz and the hallucinations, but for harm reduction sake I discontinued recreational use of the substance. I too would hallucinate varying sizes of spiders, though most of them were the size of my hand. I'm curious as to what these spiders you see actually look like; Mine were always these strange transparent beasts, complete with fangs and all. They seemed to crawl out of the floor all the time and in the floor was what I could only describe as a den, completely filled with large to small spiders all crawling over eachother and writhing about.

An interesting experience because I hate large spiders, but knowing that they were a hallucination I spent most of the trip observing them closely, oftentimes getting down on my hands and knees to inspect them more closely.

The most I've ever taken was 575 mg. all I saw was the walls shaking at first so I thought cool. Then all of a sudden I get up and turn the light on and I see hundreds of spiders crawl back into the darkers spots. The spiders i saw where strange. They were a light blue and black and kinda bright like from there skin. They didn't have any hair but they had a really detailed face. And there teeth were almost like vampire fangs.also there eyes were all black with a little red. They were ranging in size from 1/2 a foot to 3 foot. I am scared to death of spiders it is one of my only and worst fears, yet I really liked my trips off of dipenhydramine. By this time I had done it around 3 times so the heaviness was almost gone.
I APPRECIATE ALL THE POSTS! Thanks :)

haha, this is great man. I can just imagine someone walking into the room, and seeing you on your hands and knees staring at nothing on the ground, being like "woah, it's fangs are so big".
