So i have some dilly 2's and i wanted to try i.v. so i got a shot prepared today (never done it before) but basically crushed it, added warmish water, sucked it up in a needle through cotton and injected in a vein in the middle of my wrist near my forearm. Next thing I know, there's a giant bubble at the injection site and it appears none of the dilly got into my veins. i freaked when i saw it form as i injected, and stopped injecting. what did i do wrong? did i miss the vein? the bubble is gone now. Would i be better off trying this in my hand where my veins are huge?

also, i can take 12 snorted of dillys so how much shall i take iv?

couldnt find this anywhere

You missed.

You really should have somebody experienced with IV show you what to do. It isn't something you can just randomly pick up.. there is a lot involved as far as technique and safety. You can end up doing some real damage if you don't know what you're doing.

As all have said, sounds like a miss.

DEFINITELY read up BIG TIME before you try IV again... you can cause serious problems messing around with IV if you aren't completely prepared / knowledgable. Always good to see it done first hand before trying it.

Also, if you plan to IV again, don't go for small veins in the hands or wrists. I would advise the larger elbow crook veins.. you can probably see one easily, and possibly even inject without a tie.

Keep in mind, IV is a serious road to go down.. just know that you will want it more and more regardless of what you tell yourself, before you know it you love that rush and are looking for other spots to hit.

Go for a vein in the elbow. Register first. What gauge was your rig? I'd personally go no smaller than 25g.slin pins are overrated.

I think the smallest I've ever used was a 29. Normally a 30/31. I rarely hit a shot, so I basically gave up on IV.

On the other hand, I think the needles the nurses stuck in my veins to draw blood had to be at least 25, if not larger.

Yes that's true. The ones they use at the hospital are large like that.. but they are doing it once. To continually use, injecting multiple times a day, etc, with a syringe that big is way different than an occasional one poke at the hospital. It will butcher your veins, cause a ton of bruising, and hurt like hell.

Swim Has some personal experience with what your saying. it can be scary and painfull your lucky it went away

You should not shoot pills! look up endocarditis 8o not pretty...

however you missed thats all, find a vein using a tie- and then pull back to make sure you get blood if it hurts stop and start over

be carefull bluelight has alot of harm reduction forums that are really helpfull to read up on

btw- im jealous of those dilies man good luck

^^

Please don't use SWIM here. We don't use that on BL. Read the BLUA when you get a chance since your new to the site.

Good advice though, otherwise.

I should have mentioned it in my other post but OP, you really should be using a micron filter if you're going to be IV'ing pills. It's the only semi-safe way to do it.
