Dihydrocodeine dilemma

I’ve used Dihydrocodeine for 7 years now, started prescribed for an injury and now daily, around 900mg (2 or 3 times a day), really just to hold me and allow me to function.

Despite me using it for so long I’m bizarrely beginning to understand it less and less. Sometimes i actually feel really great on it, and others quite the opposite. This is outside of withdrawals, which of course i do understand implicitly, when they kick in what it feels like etc..i am talking about during a usual dosing day

On larger doses (c400-450mg) i CAN feel quite sick and very fuzzy headed, quite an un-pleasurable experience, equally smaller doses around 240mg i can feel pretty good, but its all very inconsistent, and can be the other way around. I believe the answer must be to do with the levels in my system, which obviously relates to previous dosing, and their must be an optimum amount, i would usually do a large dose if i haven’t had any for longer than normal, 16 hours maybe, so maybe ironically this isn’t enough or maybe a sudden load is no good, perhaps the re-dosing is the best way to take it and not overload the system?

Anyway this is becoming a major ramble, but i would love to hear from any who have cracked this drug, like i did at the start!

You need to try cold water extraction to get all that Tylenol out..I guarantee when you don't "feel good" but opposite, is because the high is dirty from the acetaminophen and can fuck our stomach lining up but over all 9 years yeah I'd be dodging the Tylenol as often as possible.

CWE cold water extraction is just crushing ur tabs into fine powder put in a cup with water and stir/let it sit for a bit( opioids are water soluable) then you put in freezer for maybe 20mins or so the KEY is to take it out of freezer just before it freezes..then you grab a cheese cloth or some cloth strainer that is not too thick(*like a coffee strainer would take for fucking ever IME) then strain into another cup which will leave you with about a shot or 2 of some bitter STRAIGHT codeine water, down the hatch and go about your day...then maybe the next few doses just pop tabs like normal but for sure start doing this.

No Tylenol, pure DHC in the UK…

We have in South Africa have what is called Df118 and they just pure 30mg dhc. My misses love them but for me it’s hit or miss plus I need to high of a dose for a proper session which I feel is overkill for me personally. She nods off and is in complete bliss with a 180mg dose but she is blessed with a fast metabolism for codeine so it does her well. So jealous again.

Where have you been going mate? The strongest OTC DHC preparation in the UK is Paramol (7.46mg DHC/500mg paracetamol)
It’s prescription not OTC!! any number of manufacturers make pure DHC, you get 30mg IR and 60-90-120 ER… easy to buy online
without a script too, not cheap that way though!

Just google it!

I'm not a medical professional, but it's possible that your body is developing a tolerance to the drug, which could be causing the varying effects. It's also possible that the dosing schedule and amounts you're taking are affecting how your body processes the drug.

This is sort of where I was leaning towards as well^^

If you want that feel good you probably want to (for example):take 3 or 4 in one sitting as first dose if your usual regimen is let's say 2 for first dose.

As far as re dosing...this can get dicey, say you take recommended 2 tabs or even 3..this might help "up your high" or at least maintain where it's at but IN REALITY because of this bitch named tolerance... diminishing returns are just the way the game goes.

But it can be strange some days, where less is more or binge a lot all throughout the day and never really feel much different. Either way a T break will help clear all this up.

A lot of folks I know who aren't in pain and are aiming for the sky, usually take a large dose that they know they can handle of course as their first dose...then they might save a few for the evening/tomorrow or whatever.
