Hey all.

I would realy love to hear the definitions of psychotic and non-psychotic illness and the differences between them.

I don't think a real defining line exists. Generally, psychosis involves delusions (false beliefs about the world, like one is being monitored by the police), hallucinations (usually auditory or visual, oftentimes hearing voices that don't seem to come from inside), distortions (things that you know aren't real, though they might appear to be, like seeing things you know aren't real), disruptions in speech, agitation (perhaps the most dangerous). These are (basically) the "positive" symptoms. "negative/cognitive" symptoms sometimes associated are impaired ability to socialize, flat affect, depression, trouble concentrating.

I do know that the line between "with or without psychotic features" as it relates to bipolar is ownership of the voices/delusions/distortions. A bipolar person "without psychotic features" can still have voices and hallucinations, but the person is aware that they are coming from themselves. A person "with psychotic features" would say that they are the result of someone else, or that someone else has conditioned or encouraged them to experience them.

Yes, but I believe people can become aware that though the voices appear to come from the outside (they might a different tone for instance), they are in fact coming from the inside. Such symptoms are more distortion than delusion, but they are still psychotic symptoms.
