I have been an opioid lover forover 30 years and I have been on maintenence therapy for 25 of those years, bup for a while but mainly methadone.

So I am currently on 60mg of methadone, which isn't a high dose but high enough that I barely feel a shot, even a big one, I might feel it for a few minutes but then it's just back to baseline.

I've always wondered what would happen if I used one of the naloxone kits, would it send me straight into wd and would I then be able to have a decent shot.

Well tonight I finally did it, I have half a dozen of the kits so thought I could spare one, I opened the kit and took a big pump up the nose and another one in the other nostril to finish the kit.

Sure enough, within 30 seconds I was feeling pretty shabby and that feeling just got stronger, however I already had a quarter gram of quality loaded up and ready to go.

So got my wife to fix me up and low and behold, about 5minutes later I woke up on the couch which my wife had helped me to get to after she did me up, she explained to me.

It took me a minute or so to catch my bearings and work out what was going on, then I realized I was clubbed as, feeling a feeling I haven't felt for a long, long time, like back before I got on the methadone.

It worked an absolute treat, I'm on an opioid buzz like I haven't had for like forever.....freaking unbelievable.

I don't see how that can work? Since the point of naloxone is that it completely blocks the opioid receptors by binding to them and 'dislodging' any opioid that's present. This is why you go into instant withdrawal. You should only have been able to feel the dose once the naloxone is out of your system, and that takes longer than 5 mins.

Believe me man I am well aware how naloxone works, that was the entire reason for the experiment.

Yeh let me clarify, I woke up on the couch 5 minutes after having the shot, I didn't time it but probably had the shot about 15 minutes after taking the naloxone, maybe a little more say 20 minutes, obviously it was long enough cause it totally worked.

And it has come on better now that it's been like an hour after taking the naloxone, naloxone half life is only short, about 20 minutes I think.
It has come on better after a bit more time, if I did it again I would endure the wd for longer, probably try to wait an hour would be optimal.
