is dimenhydrinate more powerful than diphenhydramine? and also what are the differences between the two?

Dimenhydrinate is a compound of diphenhydramine with chlorotheophylline (basically caffeine). As such it is weaker as an antihistamine but has fewer sedative side effects.

Diphenhydramine is the stronger of the two.

also i might add 50 mg dimenhydrinate contains 27.2 mg of diphenhydramine as far as comparing the two potency wise

How many mg's of chlorotheophylline would be in a 50 mg tablet of demenhydrinate? I can't find much info besides the equivelant dose of diphenhydramine posted above and on a few basic sites.

Do you know the dose necessary for a threshold-active dose of 8-chlorothephylline? I'm curious if it acts more as a means of keeping the combo salt non-drowsy or actively stimulating, while retaining anti-emoticon effects.
