Did marc emery actually accomplish anything?

Canadian, marc emery, fought tooth and nail for legalization of marijuana. Even went to prison multiple times. A bit of an asshole but a total activist.

Do you think he actually accomplish anything or was weed just going to be legalized anyway?

Everybody knows his name, everyone knows what he stood for. Everyone knows he was right.

How much of legalization he personally caused is probably impossible to say. How many people saw his resolve and took a step up?

The first few to stand up in any social change are often beaten to silence by the fearful. The population actually build their opinion on how quickly they stand back up. Once Marc had been singled out and victimized by the legal system he became a people's champion.

We will probably errect a statue in his honour, (until someone leaks his diary).

People will argue it was legislation etc but paper is never really responsible for anything, without people like Marc paper pushers would never initiate any change.

i think he played his part in it, got people out there that normally wouldn't be speaking up. i wouldn't say he is solely responsible for it but did have his influence on legalization
