Dianabol to help recover lost strength?

I used to be very into bodybuilding. I worked out for two and a half years, gained over 40lbs, and felt amazing. That is, until I got mixed up with heroin/other drugs. After that (8 months ago) I quit working out. I neglected to eat because I'd prioritize being high all the time. Well, I've been clean off heroin for nearly two weeks and I've lost a ton of weight, especially after withdrawals recently where I ate maybe once a day, and my daily intake was probably not even 500 Calories honestly. I'm pretty much right back at the beginning, I've lost all the weight I gained with the exception of 5lbs. I hate being small again but I don't think I could keep my motivation up to work out another 2.5 years to gain back what I lost.


I want to start working out again, but like I said I also want to get back to my old self as fast as possible (need to gain around 35-40lbs). As such, I bought 600mg of oral dbol to help me kick-start my gains and hopefully get me back to where I was quicker. My plan is to dose 20mg/day for a month and quit after that. Would this be beneficial at all? I've honestly never used steroids before so this is all new to me, but dianabol @ 20mg/day is just what I was recommended. I'll probably start up my old 5-day split and 3500-4000 Calorie diet again when I start working out as well, unless I should change that because of the steroids for some reason.

Currently at 120lbs after addiction/withdrawals, used to weigh just over 155lbs. Ectomorph/skinny, could only bench 225lbs max before I stopped working out, but I'd honestly be really happy to be at a 225lb bench right now considering my current state.
 
Also like I said I know nothing of steroids, I did a little research and dbol seemed like the best obtainable steroid for weight gain for me that I wouldn't have to inject, so any and all help/advice is both needed and appreciated. :)

You are aware opiates depress testosterone production, therefore adding an exogenous hormone (dbol) is likely to inhibit future endogenous testosterone synthesis returning to normal..
By your own words you are now small, weak, and I might suspect pissed off, with the possibility of returning to opiates if things don't rapidly improve..

If you have the willpower to hold out until natural testosterone levels return to normal this would be the preferred option, try supplementing with taurine (CFC has written extensively about its benefits)...
If you are insistent about the dbol it might be prudent to limits its negative effects on HPTA by only taking a small dose, maybe only pre workout (10mg max) 1 hr before, with a large glass of pure grapefruit juice 20 mins before the dbol...

Grapefruit juice can inhibit the gastrointestinal activity of enzymes known as cytochrome P450 CYP3A4. This causes elevated plasma levels of some drugs, because they are able to pass into the bloodstream without being broken down by enzymes in the intestine. Due to variations in enzyme levels in the intestine from person to person, effects will vary. Testosterone is the substrate, CYP3A4 is the enzyme..

The specific chemical responsible for this action is not known. There are a few suspects including various flavonoids and other phytochemicals called furanocoumarins. Concentrations of these compounds vary from one batch of juice to another. Higher concentrations are found in white juice compared to red, and the highest concentrations are found in the pulp of the fresh fruit. One glass (200 ml) of fresh juice was found to be equal in effect to two or three glasses of double strength reconstituted frozen juice. This suggests that store bought juice, which is often from concentrate, must be consumed in large quantites to for effects to be noticed. Consuption of 6-8 glasses of fresh juice may lead to inhibition of CYP3A4 in the liver. The potentiating effect of grapefuit juice may last 5 or mores hours after ingestion. Grapefruit juice should be taken 20 mins before any orals to allow enzymatic inhibition to take place...

Grapefruit juice has been found to significantly increase oral bioavailability of several drugs metabolized by cytochrome P450 3A4 (P450 3A4) through inhibiting the enzymatic activity and decreasing the content of intestinal P450 3A4. HPLC/MS/MS and HPLC/UV analyses of ethyl acetate extracts from grapefruit juice revealed the presence of several furanocoumarins of which bergamottin (BG) is the major one. BG was shown to inactivate P450 3A4 in a reconstituted system consisting of purified P450 3A4, NADPH-cytochrome P450 reductase, cytochrome b5, and phospholipids. Inactivation was time- and concentration-dependent and required metabolism of BG. The loss of catalytic activity exhibited pseudo-first-order kinetics. The values of kinactivation and KI calculated from the inactivation studies were 0.3 min-1 and 7.7 microM, respectively. While approximately 70% of the erythromycin N-demethylation activity was lost during incubation with BG in the reconstituted system, P450 3A4 retained more than 90% of the heme as determined either by UV-visible spectroscopy or by HPLC. However, approximately 50% of the apoP450 in the BG-inactivated P450 3A4 incubation mixture could not be recovered from a reverse-phase HPLC column when compared with the -NADPH control. The mechanism of the inactivation appears to involve modification of the apoP450 in the active site of the enzyme instead of heme adduct formation or heme fragmentation. These results indicate that BG, the primary furanocoumarin extracted from grapefruit juice, is a mechanism-based inactivator of P450 3A4. BG was also found to inhibit the activities of P450s 1A2, 2A6, 2C9, 2C19, 2D6, 2E1, and 3A4 in human liver microsomes.

Would only a month or two of dbol really affect my testosterone that much long term though...?
 
I'm not one for pushing AAS, but I've seen several post-opiate users recover very well with AAS use. Interestingly it may have something to do with its potential neuroregenerative effects. Either way, getting fit and healthy and following a decent lifestyle routine is great for body and soul, and if AAS helps make it more 'real', it's a much better alternative!

That's......not how it works.

You should do more reading about this and by more reading I mean literal hours of how the endocrine system works and what a biological half life is. Also read up on why doing an oral only cycle is Bernie Sanders level retarded. You don't need steroids for recovering lost strength. All you need is to adopt the lifestyle you had previously and stay off drugs.
 
You've only been off H 2 weeks and you're wanting to do a fucking cycle? Seriously...


Also you're 120lbs, you could easily get to 200 naturally before ever touching a steroid. And you would also gain it fast with the right diet/training. Your max bench was 225 when you were juicing?.. it seems to me like you should stay away from the steroids and get your diet/training in check first whilst staying off the heroin.


Then maybe run a cycle of 500mg test/week and 50mg of dbol or anadrol/day.
 
I just read that you're not even going to be running test with your DBOL? Please take my advice and stay away from the gear until you know what you're doing.



For one, you just got off heroin which more than likely crushed your natural testosterone levels, now you're wanting to hop on a dbol cycle SOLO with no testosterone? It's going to shut you down even harder. Terrible idea brother.
 
How old are you?

I would NOT run dbol without testosterone. And I don't follow the strict "oh don't run steroids at a young age or you'll die in months" talk but an oral without test isn't good bro.

Run test at 500mg for 12 weeks and add in dbol for the first 4 weeks at 30mg. If your dbol is real, 30 is all you need. Have a blood test done beforehand to know your baseline. If you have high liver enzymes then stay away from dbol. Have an AI on hand for gyno from dbol (notorious for it) and have PCT to recover after the cycle unless you plan on staying forever (which is the smart choice fi you plan on running multiple cycles in the future).

500mg test weeks 1-12
Dbol 30mg Weeks 1-4

Start at 3000 calories for first week. Then 3500 for next few weeks. When weight gain plateau's increase calories. If you can't increase anymore because no appetite or you're already over 4500 then up dbol to 45mg. Stay safe, ask me if you need more help.

Nobody here has ever said early use will make you die in months.

But that doesn't still mean it isn't a colossally retarded idea. Rest of your post is moot because he doesn't need steroids at all to begin with.
 
I quit opiates for months before I started and I agree with the post that it can help you recover, but only if you absolutely DO NOT relapse. I would do a test run of working out and pushing it to get in a real groove, along with eating enough to maintain, for a month if not 2-4 months to see how committed you really are. If you can get through the early phase of extreme soreness, constant fatigue, and little to no visible gains (in the first weeks) then you have somewhat proven you really want this, and then I would stop, consider where you are at (if you've gotten back to where you were naturally) and if you still think it's necessary, then try and do a real cycle. I have no experience with low-dose, dbol only regimens so I can't attest to whether it will provide any benefits.

Do your best to avoid taking them, and , maybe the gym-bug will bite you and you'll want to continue to improve, saving this decision for sometime down the road. It may be hard to think about in early recovery, but just exercise period will have you feeling so much better in no-time.

Dbol doesn't work that way. IF you want to do steroids do it right.

Maybe taper off the dbol 20mg/week, 10mg/week, 5mg/week... OFF

Then do some research before considering using anything again, the my first cycle thread is an excellent place to start..
 
Forget Dianabol, all it does is add Water Weight. Try this:

Meal 1

- Two large eggs

- One cup of egg whites

- Two Packets of "Quaker PROTEIN Instant Oatmeal"

- Two slices of Ezekiel Genesis 1:29 Bread spread with 2 tbsp on each slice of "Nuts 'N More" brand protein infused peanut butter (chocolate tastes the best)

- One whole sliced banana with tsp of organic honey drizzled on top


Meal 2

- 6.5 oz of chicken boneless and skinless (season to taste) cooked in 1 tbsp of coconut or olive oil

- 1 and a 1/2 cup of broccoli or mesclun mixed greens (season broccoli to taste also cook in 1 tsp of olive oil) if using mixed greens pick your favorite low fat or fat free dressing

- 1/2 cup brown rice (season with only salt)


Meal 3

- 1 cup of FAGE TOTAL 2% GREEK YOGURT

- 1/4 cup of Planters Honey Roasted Mixed Nuts

- 1 Sliced Red or Golden Delicious Apple with 1 tbsp of "Nuts 'N More" brand peanut butter spread evenly on each slice of apple

- 4 oz total of mixed Boars Head Deli Meat - equal weights divided of - Oven Gold Turkey Breast, EverRoast Chicken, Top Round Oven Roasted Beef (use Mayonnaise or Dijonnaise for flavor or then proceed to make a roll up with your favorite type of cheese)

- Two slices of Ezekiel Genesis 1:29 Bread (feel free to make a sandwich with the 4 oz of total mixed deli meats - go light on Mayonnaise or Dijonnaise - only add to enhance moisture or add cheese here )

- 1/2 cup Blueberries

- 1 cup Breakstone's Cottage Cheese
