Diagnosed: Paxil?

I recently diagnosed as clinically depressed and was given a prescription for paxil, but shortly thereafter had the prescription changed. The first dose of 10mg had a noticable effect, so I was Wondering for the futre; Can this drug have recriational value? If so, What is a safe dose and can I share?

Paxil does not have a recreational value IMHO, but some have claimed it does. Can't imagine why or how it would.

NO, it doesn't at all, and dont snort it like some idiots I know, its acidic. Also, taper off of the drug properly if you take it for a long period of time, because Paxil withdrawal is pure hell.

yikes! i took paxil once recreationally and i would not recommend it. i took two or three and felt okay at the time, very happy and almost like a shitty roll. but the next day was hell, felt all heavy and gross, and depressed. i would describe it as the mildest tab you've ever taken with the worst after effects.
as for its intended purpose, my friend on it got very good results (as an antipsychotic) and was able to get off after a few weeks with no real problems.

I was prescribed Paxil for anxiety, and took it for about a week. It was one of the most aweful drugs I have ever taken. It made me sweat constantly, and I couldn't sleep for a few days. I think Paxil is a horrible substance and can't imagine why anyone would take it for fun.

DO NOT TAKE PAXIL, IT IS THE MOST DANGEROUS ASIDE FROM WELLBUTRIN , OF ALL THE SSRIS!
If you are going to take an ssri, take zoloft, it has a *VERY* good safety profile, and is hardly toxic, has minimal side effects and is the best overall for its efficiency considering its a lot better than the others in terms of negative reactions.
All you have to do is ask for zoloft, any doc will give it to you, there is no reason you cant be put on it instead of paxil.
Now for some other info, there is a case of one man who was apparently not stable in the first place but didnt know it, he took i think one dose of paxil starting therapy and killed his whole family, this is no bullshit it was in the news, granted its usually painted like paxil made him kill his family but its only part of the story, he was already psychotic, meaning HE killed his family of course, the paxil just set him off, STILL not good at all, and i bet any ssri could do that but we arent sure yet, just stay away from the shit, there are MANY other horror storys attributed to paxil, please take zoloft or if not that, prozac.

Enough of this "can I get high from [ssri]?" bullshit... it's worthless... it might help your depression but THATS ALL!
End of story, anyone that disagrees is in the TINY minority... if you wanna go for it, then do so - rail one, or pop 5-6 ... I think you will quickly learn for yourself!
