I really don't know what to do. I can't keep using drugs. I'm sick of it. Right after I got out of detox I went and got high on dope. Now I've started using the IV method. I don't know what to do. I have Subutex but am afraid to take it as it made me dry heave for hours the last time I tried it(14 hours exactly). I think I just did it to soon(I wasn't exactly in w/d my body just hurt so I used the tex thinking it would help). I have a small amount of methadone about 3mg. Basically I'm asking for opinions. Did I take the tex to soon and not give it a chance or am I just allergic probably? I want to feel good without drugs.

My Guess is you took it to soon if you were not quite in w/ds. Especially after starting with the iv route. You may feel a bit achy but not quite in w/d/
My advice would be try taking the sub 18-24hrs after your last dose pending on your metabolism. If you have a faster metabolism like me, I can take mine 10-12 hrs. after my dose.
On another note I'm getting clean from everything including sub and it sucks. Sub w/d does suck but I think people make it out to be worse than it really is. Not trying to downplay it. Just keep your mind at ease and don't get involved in anything stressful.
Sorry if I'm rambling

So GET OFF!

How much longer are you gonna keep screwing up and going through this phase? Or do you not realize its not the drugs you're addicted to, but the phase itself?

A lot of opiate addicts don't understand this. Its the GOING BACK & FORTH that creates stimulation in our life, the emotional swings, you are addicted to instablity and chance.

The drugs just keep you in a weakened state which keeps everything going round and round. No matter how much you hate it, a part of you loves it and it serves a major function for you.

It keeps your identity as an addict in tact, so you're not forced to shift paradigms and learn new beliefs, which is REALLY the "hardest" thing to do.
You need to trick yourself into liking it, get off on will power, exercise constructive decisions, learn how to like yourself, fix your self esteem, or w/e is making it so difficult for you to move on in life. Never give up, and fight the good fight.

Good post bojangles..Although opioid w/d is very physical its mostly mental and you just have to train your brain into leading a new lifestyle!

Recovery is a really difficult process and take a lot of work but what it takes is relatively simple- you have to make the necessary changes to sustain sobriety... get rid of contacts, get rid of friends who tempt you, stay away from triggers, get individual or group help and confront the issues that lead you to use.

If you stop using drugs but don't change your life, the things that lead you to use in the first place will always lead you back.
