So, on the 16 of this month I am going to get three wisdom teeth out, one other extraction and a bone reconstruction.
Seriously, nevermind the pills, but how much pain should I plan on?
Other then that, how much pain can I work on for more percs or whatever he gives me?
I will point out that HE said that I will go home "armed with pills"
So I am thinking that is a good thing?

you'll probably get vicoden. when you get it after you get home wait a few hours after taking it and call him back saying your still in a lot of pain and the medication he gave you isn't helping much. you should then get some perc's i would imagine or maybe even oxy's if your lucky.

You'll get percocets IF your lucky....
As for the Oxys...MAYBE...if they fuck up and pull your whole jaw out and beat you over the head with a brick a few times...just MAYBE they'll give you some oxycontin 10s. But don't count on it.

I have a friend who had about as much dental work as you, and he got to be in the hospital with IV morphine for a day, and came out with about 100 vicodins (just the measly 5/500's though...stupid acetaminophen). Lucky Fuck

i got four wisdom teeth extracted under droperidol-fentanyl. the anesthetic was fairly fun (like a dream about getting my wisdom teeth extracted)..
but for the postoperative pain
i got motrin. generic motrin. ibufuckin'profen.
think about this...
four wisdom teeth were violently removed from my body
and they gave me MOTRIN.
this is in a world that can synthesize analgesics 40,000 times stronger than heroin.
and they gave me motrin.

I just got back from the dentist to get a root canal done, but the dentist said I have something called a hot tooth, and it wouldn't go numb. So they scraped out as much as possible before I started screaming, and put a sedative filling in my tooth and I have to go back on Wednesday to get the rest of the root canal done, in which they will knock me out. They send me home with 60 vicoden es to last me 3 days.. so with as much work as you're getting done you should get more than I got. Sorry to hear about your upcoming torture, but hopefully something good will come of it.

I've personally never have gotten dental work to that extreme. The amount of pain you will be in is going to vary totaly on your tollerance for pain, so it will be hard for any of us to say what the pain will really be like. My fiance had all of her wisdom teeth removed and I believe she got T3's. If I'm not mistaken, her mother also had dental surgery and she got vicodens. So my guess is you'll be recieving one of the lower to middle pain meds.
You could do what a few other posters had said and call you dentist and tell him the pain is horrible and maybe he'll bump you up to a stronger pain med. As for getting Oxycotin I'm guessing that you will not recieve that pain medication, I realize that what pain I have is not dental work and I'm not sure how the two would compare but I have 4 herniated discs and all I have is hydrocodone so I'm guessing more than likely the strongest med you would get will be percs, which from what I have heard is a very nice medicine.
Also a quick question to the girl who posted that she had a root canal done and she recieved Vicoden ES, you got a 3 day supply of 60 pills?? Did you make a mistake that's alot of hydrocodone, 20 pills a day! If it's not a typo who's your dentist I need to visit him

ENIGMA

For the procedure you describe, you might get hooked up really good... my sister got hers out (impacted) and was given 40 of the 50mg Demoral, my mom called and said she still hurt, she got 30 Percocets ... I went to the same dentist and also got a bunch of Perc's ..
So you MIGHT do really good, but you MUST strike while the iron is hot.. call hours after getting home, say its not enough... you can milk it for a couple days max..

There is a moderator on bluelight that works in a dentist office, so she could probably tell you the best guess what you might get. I'm no dentist, but from all I've seen over the years, you're either going to get percs or Vicodins. The level of hydrocodone that you could get depends of several factors. A big guy, 250 lbs, would probably get Vic HP (10/600) and a smaller person might just get regular Vic (5/500).

Lots of doctors and dentist are scared to prescribe narcotics though. Your dentist may be one of them, he may prescribe you ibuprofen 800s at first, and at best prescribe you tylenol 3s....or he might be really quick to prescribe you some percocets, you won't know untill after the surgery. Good luck.

well, two of the wisdom teeth are partial impacts, one is total impact, the other extraction is surgical, I don't know if that helps.
The bone replacement I hear is not that bad, although he said it would depend on how I bruise and swell.
I don't think he is afraid of narcotics, but maybe he was just talking about t3s.
We had a conversation about a dentist we both had trouble with and whenI said the guy told me he had not given narcotics in three years this guy rolled his eyes and that is when he told me I would have plenty of meds for pain.
He also already gave me valuim for the day before and the day of....
We (husband and I) already have our plan for the call back.
He is going to call and be very worried about the swelling and terrible pain and ask if maybe he should bring me back in, cause maybe something is wrong.
Should be interesting anyway.
I am really kind of freaked that the pain might be to horrible to enjoy whatever I do get

Oh, yer a female... hey baby, sup? If you wouldn't mind, I would like to drill your cavity.. I will give you a bone replacement, your husband would never have to know, I is da unda cova luva...
Anyway, he sounds like a good guy - any dentist that gives you VALIUM for pre-surgery anxiety is going FAR BEYOND what most do.. he will take care of you, but still, wear something that gives him some nice scenery while he works on you - something that doesnt make you look slutty, but it should accentuate your chest, and DEFINITLY a skirt that will show your legs, for shoes I recomend something with a strap.. serious, don't fuck him, but if you put sexy thoughts in his head, it is PROVEN that when you call back for more, he will revert to the image of you.. if you're fat, wear a MuMu and apologize for being fat in advance..
You're going under general-anesthesia, which honestly, was SO MUCH fun I would DEFINITLY go through the experience again!

jesus man! all you guys who got meds after your procedures, consider yourselves lucky!
a few years back i had experimental oral surgery, impacted canines shoved so far up they were nearly in my nose. the put me out with sodium pentothal <sp?>, which i had a horrible reaction to. long in short - stitches that ran the length of my gums, as well as front to back. (think of the sign for euro dollars, instead of one curve, add another .. that's what my mouth looked like.) and after bleeding for days, complaining of horrendous pain, he refused to give me anything. so, yeah, be happy with whatever you get.

Percodan = Oxycodone + Asprin (there might be something else)
Percoet/Tylox = Oxycodone + APAP
OxyContin = Oxycodone + nothing (it's time release)
OxyIR/Roxicodone = Oxycodone
You will get something, don't worry... remember my advice about dressing the part too!

When I had all of my wisdom teeth removed a few years back, I had to go to an oral surgeon since they were all impacted and he hooked me up very well. I also had valum for pre-surgery anxiety and a weeks worth of pill form demerol for after.
if hes a surgeon and Id assume he must be to do all that work, im sure youll get treated right....good luck
