(answered) Deleted PMs

I had just deleted all my PMs in my inbox, is there a way to get them back?

There's this message to confirm a permanent deletion, so that must mean that there's a chance they're still recoverable from the server right?

On a related note, why doesn't vBulletin have an 'undo' option immediately after deleting a PM?

It's highly doubtful that they would be recoverable, as even administration does not have direct access into PM boxes, it would have to be someone with the ability to access backups of the databases directly, and the ability to restore just a small portion of one of them without compromising its integrity.

Likely the site engineer or one of the owners has the access needed, but not necessarily the ability to safely restore the content.

Bummer. At least I still have 50% of them after I backed up the sent folder after my little blunder.

Thus starts a new era of memories. But the ones from passed bluelighters i'll never get back

Yeah, not ideal, but to the best of my understanding that's the nature of the forum software. Perhaps someone else knows more than I do and will chime in. I'll raise the issue with some of the other senior staff next I speak with them.

One thing to remember is you can back up your pms to a text file to save on your computer. Too late now but something for the future.
