Now this question may as well pertain to numerous other substances, but it is in essence about maximizing one's drugs for most efficient administration.

All over these boards the message is "DO NOT SMOKE OXYCONTIN". Why? Simply because it is a hydrochloride salt and thus decomposes at a low temperature. Although I do not do this as it is a waste, it is a common practice in my area, with the natural ROA progression being eating, sniffing, smoking, and finally intravenous use (if anyone plugs, they are definetly not very vocal bout their habit).

I have heard that most heroin is also in the form of a salt, so why is it that people smoke that with no criticism? Is the molecule specifically different in that it's combustion temperature is much above the vaporization point?

Still, after much reading around the forum, and the frustrating fact that I cannot view the "Heroin MEGA THREAD" I am left with a gap in my knowledge. I am hoping for a concise breakdown of the different forms heroin comes in, their respective routes of ingestion (intended I mean), as well as a breakdown the the number system (1-4) and any other relevant information beyond that; geography, analogues, and things that my lack of experience would leave me unable to question.

Although this information is available on the board, there is also a lot of misinformation. I'd like an understanding of what I'm dealing with, before taking any action.

Thanks

Diamorphine is an alkaloid. In it's pure base form it is insoluble in water and therefore often smoked. The base can however dissolve in citric acid (diamorphine citrate) which is a common practice where it is often found in Europe.

Diamorphine is synthesized from morphine. Using quality techniques and equipment you can get pure diamorphine hcl which is a white powder, water soluble, and often snorted or injected. Using old fashioned cheap techniques you get a mixture of acetylated morphine chemicals and this is known as black tar heroin. BTH is still salt and will dissolve in water. ROAs are usually therefore injection or snorting a solution, though some people try to smoke it because it isn't an actual powdery substance you can snort.

Of course different cuts make it almost impossible to determine what you have based on colour and consistency. It'll start out as one of these though (or be protein powder sprinkled with fentynal :\).

Why? Simply because it is a hydrochloride salt and thus decomposes at a low temperature.
It's inefficient but it also has to do with the binders in the pills. You could carefully try and vaporize pure oxycodone with fairly good results I'd image but not when it is caught up in pits of crap. That crap also goes in your lungs.

Why can't you view the heroin megathread?

Thankyou, and for the couple hours I was on the computer everytime I checked I got the 401 bad request.
