This is just from morphine and oxycodone, and I would think that this would be over by now. Unless maybe I'm still suffering from the effects of gall bladder surgery, and the morphine just masked the truth of how bad it really was going to be on a regular basis.

The depression gets old, but this just adds that one little extra annoyance into the pile. I've actually had to go back on immodium to get things to settle down. I ignored it days 10,12,15 ...and just kind of figured "Okay, this will stop soon enough", but now I'm not quite so sure.

The Immodium will just prevent the opioid receptors in your digestive system from healing. Take some psyllium husk instead. How long were you on opioids? Diarrhea can actually last quite some time after quitting. But see your doctor to rule out other contributing factors.

10 1/2 years around the clock 24/7 at 180-400mg of morphine per day, 12 years total back when I didn't have to be 24/7 with it. So its been quite a long time.

Well then from my own experience 17+ days of diarrhea does not seem at all weird to me considering how long you were on morphine. It is common when recovering from gallbladder surgery too though, so those things could be combining to make it particularly bad for you. Watch what you eat and take psyllium husk every day. I can recommend some more things later when I have more time to write.
