Darwinian fuckup- How screwed am I (PH ingestion)

OK, So I am an idiot.

I had my PH DOWN in a nose dropper for precise measurements, Some fool threw it back in the medicine cabinent (my fault I know).

So I like an idiot put a couple drops in each nostril. 2 drops per nostril exactly....than I realized my face was on fucking fire, or it felt that way...than realized the mistake I made.

I checked online and seems like I should be ok, maybe a bad stomache ache...just lucky I didnt take more..

But I am interested in BL's oppinions,

please don't tell me to go to the ER just incase ....IF you have knowledge on the subject and you think the very small amount ingested could be a large problem, by all means tell me to rush to the ER....

I know in interest of HR I should be there already....but Im not, the pain is gone and I feel fine.
 
I was going to ask what this had to do with cannabis...but google seems to inform me that the product is used in growing.

i have no relevant info about your current situation.
 
Couple drops of PH UP should do the trick.

edit: might be a little fizzy though.
 
yeaaa...I wasnt quite sure whether the cannabis forum was appropriate or not, but I thought people with the most knowledge of PH would be lingering around here.

I also threw a similar thread, but with a completely different agenda in Other Drugs because I hear people "basify" they stomach before speed.

lmao at your response, PH UP is basically an acid (from my understanding) so I think im gunna pass on that.....although PH DOWN felt pretty much like acid too.

ha.

any helpful info still appreciated, even if its just a, "Yea I read the internet and you should be fine" ... Preferably a "Yea I did that before too and am fine" ...but you know take what ya get.
 
U should be fine. The most u'll get is some burns inside the nose, but nothing central so no need for the ER trip.

PH is a scale that measures acidity of a solution. The lower u go on that scale the more acidic a solution is, the higher u go the less acidic it is and more basic. Basic is oppoiste of acidic. If one solution is a 1 on a PH scale and another is an 8, the 1 is more acidic than the 8.

PH UP means it will bring the PH up, PH DOWN will bring it down. So u use PH DOWN on solutions that are basic, in order to bring them down. PH DOWN is an acid. PH UP is used on solutions which are too acidic in order to bring the solution up on the PH scale. It's a base, not an acid.

Well, its a little more complicated than that as weak acids can be bases too. But u basically put a fairly strong acid up ur nose and might get some burns.
 
its not a darwinian fuckup so long as you go on to reproduce. ;)

but if this incident preveneted u from providing offspring then yea it could be considered a darwinian fuckup
 
Yerg and Ziggy -- Thanks for straightening that out, its always good to have a basic knowledge of what PH actually does rather than just how to use it.

I always thought up was acid down was base (shows where I am chemistry wise)


Highonlife--- Ti's true, Potential Darwinian fuckup may have been a better title, but I couldn't help but laugh and say oh godamn, if this is super poisonous I am a darwin candidate forsure.


Luckily I take two lessons from this.

1. Keep the PH up and down where I use them.
2. DO NOT switch the bottles potential poisons are in!!!!, especially with something consumable!!!!....it is worth the time and effort to pour it in a new container and use a dropper.

P.S. The cannabis forum kicks some serious ass, Im gunna have to do some lurking over here.
 
Im sorry that made me laugh. Lucky you werent playing with any decent solutions otherwise it would have been really painful. At would i was making a litre of 1m HCl in Methanol, (when you pour acid you always trickle down the side of the flask otherwise it spits) well i got a drop on the crease of my mouth and i was piss bolting for the chem shower. Mighta put myself at more risk of drowning by shoving the shower head into my mouth but its didnt really damage the skin just a bloody fright.
 
I was using 2Mol NaOH to neutralise some acetic anhydride.
i was adding it slowly to be careful but not much seemed to be happening.
after the correct amount was added, i straightened up and thought, "that was weird, maybe bad stock."
so i picked up the conical flask to take it out, and the two layers (the NaOH had stayed on top of the AA for some reason =[ ) mixed and the whole thing boiled explosively and shot boiling acid and alkali into my face and eyes.

fortunately, I had worked out the correct number of moles for them to neutralise with each other.
unfortunately, this was happening at 90ﾟC on my face.
