Going to Above & Beyond this weekend and I'm not into dancing but my girlfriend loves to dance, she done many different style of dance, formal and informal (ballet, hip hop, etc). I want to move with her to the sound while we roll but I want to make sure we're feeling a sense of complete togetherness. I mean I know the high will be good for that either way but I want everything around us to contribute to it haha.

Any suggestions on where to look to learn some simple but pleasing to the eyes for dancing.

links welcome!

I dont care about what others think of me in general but I want my motions and the music to be a more than satisfying experience. I want everything to be as good as it can be for my girl and I haha

^this.

the best way to learn is to play some trance and let your body lose control. or do a youtube search on "melbourne shuffle". That's the typical raver dance.

the show is going to be above and beyond so im thinking something with fluid motions but still attention grabbing, something that when you see it makes you feel something intense Hah. The best I can relate it to is my interest in tai chi but I dont think doing tai chi at a show would be the coolest experience with my lady LOL

I always thought fluid dancing such as liquid worked wonderfully for trance. It's a shame people don't practice this style much anymore.

This clip is a good example. Especially around 1:40 and after.

Excellent find. Thank you much!!

Part of the reason I like that style of dancing is because it isn't 100% about footwork. If you don't feel comfortable moving around a bunch, you can still flow with the music using your upper body. Just look up liquid tutorials for some basic concepts and then do your own thing with them!

Depends on the tune! If it's mellow shit then just be bored. If it's hard hitting thumping tech trance then let your body decide how you dance. Clench your fists and do the roid head dance. Don't ever put your hands in the air.

^this

also, those who could judge your dancing are most often those who are afraid to dance anyway ;)

if you can manage to let go while dancing and stop caring what people might think of you, it becomes much more rewarding imo.
