You can always get a normal cylindrical style battery like you see most people use with dab pens. I personally find them weak, prone to breaking, and often experiencing degradation of battery capacity over short periods. I experienced much less battery degradation living in wicked cold areas though, as opposed to South Florida where it was incredibly noticeable.
I use a box mod that I put a ceramic core in, it's just an oil slick geekvape mod with a core that I can't even recall the brand of, I just told the smoke shop employee I was trying to vape distillate and she handed me a ceramic core. I use a 2mL tank on it, and even though it's clowned on by many, I usually use it with straight THC-O distillate. Fuck buying a 1g cart for $20 when 100g of ∆9-O acetate is $200. I've probably eaten a kilo or so in the last three years all together bc I order 100g 3-4 times a year.
My mother recently ate 40g of THC-O distillate over six weeks in infused olive oil and I'm still shaken to my fucking core by the sheer amount she self administered while working two jobs. Working at a rural fruit stand and taking care of a developmentally disabled woman. Both involved driving maybe a total of 25-30 miles per day. She has experienced vomiting and dysphoria before from taking 300mg of ∆9 orally with me when she had no tolerance, so I'm assuming she ramped up her oil use, then didn't taper and when she ran out just called me to ask for more. My jaw hit the ground like gravity had stolen it from me. I sent her 80,000mg of this shit for her to split with her family and she eats half in six weeks. Even if it was evenly distributed, that's still ~950mg daily, essentially a gram a day. She was happy as hell when that next pack of olive oil landed on her porch hahaha.
The reason for the rant is to warn you to be cautious if you take the route of things like altnoids, especially in a box mod where you can just take huge rips a normal dab pen couldn't even begin to achieve. It's more like if a dab rig was portable, had whatever capacity your lungs did at the moment, and you could put shit in it like THC-O, THC-P/H/B, HHC-P/H/B, their O-acetate esters, and possibly develop a fucking crazy tolerance. I haven't pushed more than maybe 25 grams of oil through my current ceramic core and there's seemingly no need to replace it quite yet, so perhaps they're long lasting. I usually go ~16.5W on the battery and let it warm for maybe 1/2-3/4 of a second before hitting, the same way that you often preheat weaker dab pens for many full seconds.
I've also seen both batteries and atomizers explode from people taking too much power from a battery via a box mod. They can be dangerous, understand how absurd it is in both their and practice to smoke shit with an 18650 battery at arbitrary levels of power for however long you can press a button. Speaking of that, try to build the habit of shutting off your dab or box mod before putting it in your pocket, I've seen many people with clouds rising from their pockets before. My mod has a "lock switch" for this reason, the way guns have safeties.
