OK, I realize there is the Vyvanse Mega Thread, but whenever i post there it usually takes a few days to get a response, and this is important...so i hope it's okay netiquette for me to post this thread..if not, feel free to merge it, i guess.

I've been on Vyvanse for 3 months. I'm currently on 40mg twice daily, tho i usually take a day or two off during the week; if that's relevant. I also take a host of supplements that i could list here specifically if needed...but basically they're several amino acids, magnesium, l-tyrosine, l-tryptophan, omega 3 fatty acids, and vitamins -- specifically ones for adrenal support like B-6 complex..and others..also DHA.

These supplements have been working very well alongside the d-amphetamine (Vyvanse), tho i have to take the supplements a few hours before dosing the Vyvanse because taking them together gives me nausea and diarrhea. I'm looking for suggestions on dosing the two -- it seems like taking the supplements daily is starting to wear me out..even taking into consideration that i'm on an amphetamine regimen...it has a burn-out-acidic feeling of its own. I've been trying to take half the dose of supplements, but it doesn't work very well that way. I would consider quitting the supplement regimen if i could..but they help keep anxiety and erection problems at bay -- i apologize if that's too graphic, but i just need to explain the reason i'm taking them. This is the only thing that has helped me with these problems...not to mention balancing out mood a bit as well.

I've been looking into some things to take to balance out pH levels...altho i'm never certain of the safety of mixing natural supplements with amphetamine. I'm drinking aloe vera juice today, which seems to be soothing my stomach a bit...tho i have no clue if its pH balancing properties are legit or not. Extensive research came up with inconclusive results. I know that chlorophyll can be good for this, but i'm unsure if it's safe to take frequently over a period of time.

Any suggestions you guys may have on this are much appreciated.

Peace

Wow. ..I'm always amazed when I read someones' story that is so similar to my own.
ANyways...

Chlorophyll is VERY safe! It's really great stuff, as you've probably already read. I've taken it daily for years and have had no problems besides green poo :D

Try supplements made by Solgar... They use chelated minerals for maximum abosrbtion and enymatic cofactors for their B-vitamin Complex. I've been taking them for almost a year and am yet to have any problems with them. Your mileage may vary...

I had to switch to IR dextrostat cuz vyvanse is a fortune :( If only they made dextroamphetamine without dyes!

Be wary of l-tyrosine and any form of PEA because they can cause a huge BP spike inadvertently. Giving yourself a hypertensive crisis with some random herbs would be a crappy way to end up in an ER.

My suggestion is magnesium glycinate (what kind you use is important to bioavailability , do some research on it effects on stimulants.

I would switch the tyrosine with phenylalanine. I've had better results with it, with seemingly more of the dopaminergic effect and a cognitive boost. Try instead of taking the magnesium and all the vitamins seperately, take just one good quality XR multivitamin/mineral. And are you taking other amino acids than tyrosine and tryptophan? i don't think they would be neccesary if you do, just increase your protein intake (but don't ingest protein when taking the amino acids). It would also be a good idea to take the tyrosine and tryptophan seperately if you aren't already, and take the tryptophan with carbohydrates if with protein. Vitamins should go before the amino acids. L-theanine IME goes very well with amphetamines.

Some have argued that under 'normal' dietary conditions (that is, enough protein to avoid severe malnutrition), tyrosine hydroxylase is saturated, so it really shouldn't do too much (same for phenylalanine).

This is just something some guy on here said; I'ven't seen a primary study or anything.

wow great advice so far. thanks guys. %)

It would be great to know of supplements for erectile problems as well. I realize the close relation between sexual function and adrenal hormones, which is why i take the B6 Complex. It does seem effective, but only rarely now that i'm taking it with the d-amphetamine; which consistently cause shrinkage due to lack of blood flow to the penis. I hope there is a solution to this problem, aside from ceasing use of amphetamine.

Thanks again for all your help.

Peace

Amino acid forte seems pointless to me. All of those amino acids would compete with each other. It's more practical to just take protein powder. It just seems like a wastes of money to me.

And why the extra magnesium and b-vitamins? you should get most of your micronutrients from a thing called food anyway. Supplements are just something to ensure theirs no holes in your diet.

--massive list-----

Thanks again for all your help.

do you take all those things daily? it looks a bit excessive to say the least. it would be almost OK if then you didn't eat anything else containing vitamins or minerals, else you are dosing yourself with excessive quantities of stuff, which in some cases as been linked to serious adverse effects. (cancer with B-carotene for example). the doses are pretty close to the levels given to those suffering actual symptoms of vitamin deficiency rather than the 'worried well'

I think i have some issues with malabsorption of nutrients. Before i started taking the supplements i couldn't get out of bed without a lot of effort. I felt fatigued, weak, and depressed all the time. After taking them daily for a few years, my system seems to have built up an immunity (if you can call it that) to them - if i use them daily now, they aren't nearly as effective as before...so i usually take the full dose every other day and just a few or none on the other days.

I'm also suspecting some of the erectile problems are linked to something i'm taking (aside from the amphetamine)...because i didn't take them today and my libido is much higher. This happens often. I may not feel as wholesome or less easily depressed, but my sex drive is higher...oh well. :\

I've also been doing acupressure massage on my feet, which are always very tight and sore... I'm sure this is due to adrenal insufficiency and such because after i've thoroughly massaged all the points (for 15-20 min) i start to feel very awake, warm, and alert. Typically, my hands and feet will be cold while i'm on amphetamine, however, after doing a few of these massages throughout the day, hands and feet become warm (more than usual, even when not on amphetamine), i have more sustained energy (stamina) - sex drive is higher. I'm very surprised few people talk about this technique to relieve fatigue. I'm unaware of any possible limits to doing this, however. I wouldn't want to overstimulate some area of my body -- altho with me that seems impossible.

Apologies if i'm rambling. :| I'm feeling quite good today. ;)

Peace

The average americans diet gets nowhere close to the daily recommended 400mg of magnesium (the shitty magnesium oxide in multivitamins is next to worthless also). More importantly, we dont ingest much nuts and thats really where you're going to get certain minerals (almonds in particular are good for magnesium and HDL cholesterol).

Magnesium is extremely important if you're using stimulants regularly (even caffeine).

^ Thats why you should stay away from the american diet, and go for a balanced organic vegetarian diet. A few ounces of almonds or cashews should supply most of your daily value for magnesium and other nutrients as well like protein.

and yea, i used to take magnesium when I went on an adderall regimen, along with other supplements and that orange vitamin water with l-theanine.

Your combined supplements obviously limits fine tuning.

But my suggestion is as follows:

Zn+Mg+B6 at night, possibly Boron too, not as common and well established (and you already have it in your other tabs)

make sure to take the free amino acids on an empty stomach

get some L-arginine, as a vasodilator (empty stomach, at least two times a day)

a natural rememdy for BPH might actually help you too, "Saw Palmetto"

Some nicotinic acid or niacin of "yes-flush" type might actually do you some good, and the unpleasant flush sensation often goes away with time. Some extra Inositol Hexaniacinate might also work.

The Betaine Hcl might be too much for you, as it lowers the pH in your stomach, also non of the Ca is of the kind that's good at handling excess acid.

Aspirin, 50-100mg/d 1-2dosings , Possibly Ginkgo Biloba.

All in all it should make your little friend a little friendlier.

p.s. The obvious choice is ofc 2.5-5mg tadalafil per day, but I'm guessing that's been ruled out.
