I recently purchased a box of Marezine from my local drug store. It was quite pricey, almost a buck a pill, as the box contains 12x 50mg cyclizine hydrochloride tabs. I did a search and couldn't find much information about cyclizine, and even on google and on drug encyclopaedia websites (pubmed, merck, etc.) barely any information about the pharmacology of cyclizine is available. The majority of information I've found about cyclizine was basic patient information regarding how to use and store the product.

Anyway, my questions would be, what is the pharmacology of cyclizine? How long is its duration of action? Certain sites list cyclizine's half-life as 20hours, but I'm sure the duration of action is much shorter than its half-life. Also, is it very sedating? Does it work well as an anxiolytic and sedative for sleep? How does it mix with methadone? I hear a lot of people have IVed cyclizine 50mg pills after orally dosing their methadone to get a euphoric high, and although the marezine pills are really small and look simple to prep for IV, I'm not interested in IVing pills at this point.

Also, since I'm now taking d-amphetamine, how would the cyclizine mix with the d-amphetamine? Would the cyclizine provide minor anxiolysis that the d-amphetamine might cause? And would the cyclizine allow me to sleep if the d-amphetamine caused some minor insomnia? I basically am wondering if cyclizine when taken with d-amphetamine would work similar to that of a low-dose benzo when taken with d-amphetamine to reduce the side-effects of stimulants.

I've heard that cyclizine is similar to that of hydroxyzine (Vistaril/Atarax) in terms of its anxiolytic and sedative properties; would it be correct to state that cyclizine is a OTC 'form' of hydroxyzine (as hydroxyzine is only available by prescription, but is unscheduled)? Does it share its closest similarities with hydroxyzine in terms of effects?

If one were to take cyclizine 50mg, when would be a good time to take it when taking it with methadone? An hour or a couple hours after dosing methadone? After the methadone kicks in?

Also, does cyclizine have any major CYP450 interactions? Is it a substrate of any major CYP450 pathways? Any information about this interesting anti-histaminergic drug would be appreciated, thanks!

From what I know, cyclizine is the holy grail of anti-histamines, shortly followed by hydroxyzine.
I have a huge amount of hydroxyzine pills, I take some from time to time to boost my methadone, but I prefer benzos for that task.
I have a sensitive prostate, and anti-histamines are aggressive against this very noble organ, lol.

Bump

I also found some Cyclizine tab. They are also still OTC were i live.

How to take these 50mg Cyclizine tabs for best effect?
When would be a good time to Iv them when taking a double dose of methadone.
I can not Iv my methadone because it's full of suger and other crap.
I'm on 90 Methadone mg daily.

Thanks

Cyclizine, like most antihistamines, will reduce the effectiveness of your amphetamines. However, they will also take the edge off and get rid of the anxiety and jitters.

Treat it like other powerful antihistamines (hydroxyzine, diphenhydramine, promethazine) when combining it with opiates, take 30-90 minutes before your opiate dose for maximum effect.

I don't have any experience IVing, although I'm sure somebody can chime in on the subject, I can tell you that the wikipedia article for it mentions that the pills have lots of added binders and fillers to make it harder to inject.
