Cutting down use to weekends only...any effect on lowering tolerance?

I had been smoking weed daily for about a year and a half. Come December of 2009, I thought I should make it my New Years resolution to take a 1 month tolerance break. But, I find it difficult avoiding weed completely on the weekends. I'm always around people who smoke it, and am always offered a "hit off this joint" or a "rip from this bong."

Now, that being said, I still have a lot of willpower, and WOULD be able to cut my intake to 0 for at least a month. The question I'm asking, would cutting my intake down to weekends only still have much of an effect on tolerance? Say I smoked during the weekends only for 2-3 months. Would it be at all similar to a 1 month break with nothing at all?

If even a few tokes on the weekend keeps tolerance high, then I'll definitely stop for a month. But, you only live once, so if enjoying the occasional weekend toke still left enough room to lower my tolerance, I'd be a happy man.

I agree with your last statement, ha. Yeah though, if you were smoking pretty much everyday, smoking only on the weekends is going to hugely decrease your tolerance. ;)

imo ide take a week break atleast, sometimes i dont smoke for a day or 2 and notice no tolerence reduction, if ur strong 3 weeks and then ur first j will get ya blizted

Yep smoking once a week massively reduces your tolerance. However in my experience tolerance reduction reaches a plateau pretty soon after that. If you have the willpower (I don't) it's a very good way to smoke as you'll be paying less and getting an awful lot higher.

Why not take a break for one month and then start smoking on weekends? Give your body a break and really decrease your tolerance before you start your new smoking routine. If you say you have the willpower then prove it

It's hard to say what exactly it will do to your tolerance/ how it compares to a total break of a certain period but it will definitely help your tolerance. Smoking daily makes weed almost like cigs unless you smoke a ton - it will just make you contented, cheerful and relaxed. If you cut back to weekend-use only you should, at the very least, start getting high again.

im also doing the smoke on weekends only thingy to lower my tolerance.
For one month only smoke on weekends and no to a small number of cigs per day.
But will that be enough time to get my tolerance back enough to IE get baked w/ one hash joint ?

If you are smoking once or twice a week I would consider that incredibly low tolerance. A few days off can shoot your tolerance down pretty quickly.

Try it out -- you will see for yourself. I used to smoke only on weekends, but then I went to college. Remember, it won't bring back those "golden day" highs where everything seemed trippy (unless this is normal for you), but you will get blasted again off of very little.

Atleast take a weeks break, if you serisly wanna feal the "weed eurphia" again

I agree with this. Go a whole month with nothing and I promise you you're not going to regret the high you get from a small assed amount of weed. Just give it a shot and see what happens I guess but not doing it for a month you would be very happy after.
