crystal meth causing swelling and dizziness

My boyfriend and I have been snorting for about 3 months. He works on computer and it was great for focus. I partake a couple of nights and then down for 4 or 5. He has been doing it rather continually with stretches of no sleep for up to 24-26 hours then maybe sleep for a few until he finally crashes with a Seroquel for a longer sleep. He has been experiencing swelling in ankles and feet for about 2 months and he has less tolerance for going for walks, getting winded. He also is dealing with dizziness when standing. He has cut back on dosage quite a bit trying to get down and off gradually. Anyone have any experience with this? Also, can using capsules help to ease back? I have done this a couple of time and it seems to last a good long steady time. Thx, just REALLY concerned. He won't go to a doc til it is not in his system.

Sounds like possible vasoconstriction; are his hands and feet cold, possibly slightly discoloured like when you come in from the cold?

Try eating some hot sauce or something else quite spicy, taking ibuprophen, and hot showers. Also, he has to stop sitting at the computer for hours at a time. At the very least just get him up every hour or two to walk around and get circulation going.

He's on the right track to start having pretty bad neuropathic discomfort if he continues.

To be honest, dosing orally may help a little with the severity of the crash and therefore the power of the urge to redose, but I don't think it's going to have much impact. By all means, it won't be worse, so go for it.

Thank you, I am so glad someone commented. his hands don't feel cold but feet yes sometimes when it is more swollen. alittle darker skin at base of ankle but far cry from blue. He cannot tolerate walking very far. Dizziness sets in and out of breath. I have been juicing and trying to get some 'good' nutrients in that way. Again, thanks...he means the world to me and I am worried.

He has to stop redosing.

Try a warm bath, hydrate with some sports drinks if you can get them. Even better is coconut water. The potassium and sodium in the drinks will help balance his electrolyte levels. Feed him simple and nutritious foods like some fruit, some yoghurt and milk for protein, bannanas are especially good for potassium. You understand the common theme here, you want easy to chew and swallow, hydrating, and nutritious foods, and after nibbling for a while he will be satisfied, then you put him to bed with a warm blanket and a bottle of water next to him.

None of this two hour nap shit either, he needs a good 8-10 hours and he'll feel loads better.

Wow, I'm sort of amazed your noses have tolerated snorting meth for months at a time. Honestly. Totally go with oral dosing if you're going to continue using despite the nasty side-effects he is experiencing.

Do you get nosebleeds with snorting meth consistently? I would imagine so, that shit burns anyways recreationally i would prefer smoking it, but since you do it a lot i guess stick with snorting or do oral, or take a break before it pulls you in further.

Well keep in mind, the reasonably pure crystal meth is amazing to snort because it turns to liquid or dissolves very fast with very little unsoluable impurities and for me caused zero nasal issues, no blocked nose, etc, perhaps only a little pain as it goes in.

If its causing nasal issues for longer then 12 hours after putting it in there then its probably got some shit or cut in there, even if it feels strong.

The experiences the OP mentions however sound very much like my own experiences when using Seroquel with the meth, especially the dizziness which hits like a bus after meth due to the massive change decrease in blood pressure.

Swollen red and painful hands and feet however sounds likely pretty standard vasoc issues from to much meth or to long a binge on it.

Swelling, faint, shortness of breath etc.... Meth is known to cause " edema symptoms". And can lead to pulmonary edema, brain edema, leg, abdomen. Etc.... Severity is consistent with the intake of meth Edema is swelling and usually is a response to inflammation and things the like, sleep deprivation etc.. can cause inflammation. When you are experiencing edema aka swelling in your leg, raise your leg above your heart, take a diuretic pill, it will get rid of excess fluids in your body that is causing your swelling,

Ive never experienced nose bleeds from snorting, just gross boogers for awhile. But I will tell you this, I ended up getting a WICKED double ear infection for six months from snorting. I still have issues. Personally, I've found oral dosing tends to be really nice. Capsules are great for portioning, but be sure to use a scale and measure it. Don't just eyeball it. it's very easy to lose track of how much you're taking. Meth causes your heart rate to increase, and your veins to constrict reducing blood flow in your limbs. Like everyone else has said, make sure you and your boyfriend aren't hunched over long periods of time. And DRINK DRINK DRINK. I know it's hard, but force as much water as you can. I've found protein shakes actually are easy to get down and you need the protein. Don't drink caffeinated drinks as it'll only restrict blood flow more. I used to get really bad cramps in my wrists from playing candy crush for hours on end. Set timers, after thirty minutes or so, make yourself get up and go walk for abit. meth can cause bad nerve and circulation damage. If he starts to feel like his hands are cold, or cramping then soak them in lukewarm water. Same goes towards feet. I used to do this when I didnt feel like taking a shower, or I was too hot to do so. The heat will draw blood from your heart to your extremities. I cannot stress enough how important it is to drink water. Constriction of the blood vessels is highly unpleasant and will cause more damage than you'd think, especially in the long run.

Also, naproxen sodium is a good anti inflammatory, but don't redose after taking some or if you do try a smaller dose as it's a blood thinner.
