Im prescribed 2mg klonopin a day and ive noticed when i dont take it and drink, it takes a shitload of alcohol to get a normal buzz. Ive heard that theres a cross tolerance between the two but i dont really know how much of one that there really is. Now i have to take a drink or two just to feel my klonopin, and my doctor and i both feel that a dosage increase isnt the right thing due to how easy it is to get addicted to benzos. If anyone has any good info on this, or had a similar experience i'd like to hear what yall have to say…

If you are taking 2mg a day of Klonopin you are probably physically dependent on it depending on how long you have been taking it. I have been taking Xanax for years and I can't not take it.. if I go more than a few days without some I definitely notice that I start not feeling good.. it isn't as bad as opiate w/d by any means.. but I definitely get major panic attacks and such if I don't take it.

As far as the alcohol thing goes.. I know it isn't good to mix them at all.. I have completely quit drinking (even tho I seriously miss my Belgian Beer habbit) since being put on opiates and benzos..

Benzo withdrawal is a monster.
Give it more than a few days off and those panic attacks would become so much worse, and I'm not even going to go into details about the siezures and/or worse.
So your last point is missguiding.

To the OP.
Clonazepam is similar to Tramadol in the sense of they work for some people and do nothing for others.
I fall into the latter group for both drugs.

I would suggest diazepam instead of the clonazepam, and you wouldn't have to drink.
If you have been on clonazepam for a while and they have worked before then disregard the above sentence.

yeah i was on klonopin same dosage for about 2 years from age 15-17 which i now think shouldn't be allowed to be given to people under 18. Around 16 i started to get into dope hard and went on suboxone at 17 and my doc wouldn't allow me to take my klonopin and when my psych heard about my opiate addiction he stopped prescribing the klonopin, without tapering me down. That led to horrible withdraw shakes, hallucinations mostly at bed time while falling into sleep paralysis, convulsions, etc… so i got kicked out of the sub clinic and masked what i could of the benzo withdraw with dope. I know how bad klonopin withdraw is and ive only been back on it for a month and am trying not to take it everyday for that reason. The meds im on now have me balanced for once in my life and i dont feel the need to self medicate with opiates like i did for a few years, and that withdraw was hell to get over, but almost a year no opiates im a completely different person. I just dont know why my tolerance is sky high if im not taking them like i used to in high school to get fucked up, as to now i actually take em when i need em…..
