post about drugs that kill creative pursuits for you (along with description if possible.)

I'm a musician, make songs in reason with keyboard, drum machine, record vocalists, etc.

If I take a benzo I can't get shit done. just wipes my creativity out.

Strong stimulants (amphetamine, cocaine, RC) I end up hyperfocusing on minute details and while i might get something done it is generally of lesser quality. (weed can help with this.)

Opiates it's dose dependent, if I hit a nod that's it, I'm nodding (obviously.)

Dissociatives low doses I find actually help but high doses I get too stupified.
 
I play music, too. Guitar, drums and bass. I plan on getting a keyboard soon and learning. I agree with you about the benzos. Stimulants are great for the first half, the second half i can regurgitate everything i already know but learning new things or soloing becomes more difficult as i become blank.

Opiates are my drug of choice for my creativity; music, drawing, building, cooking, etc.. but it has to be an accurate dose. to much can do what benzos does --different feeling but similar outcome-- and too little just doesn't affect the creativity spark.

Other than that, alcohol is a creativity killer for me. I mean a couple beers or a few shots makes jamming more intricate but when i am plastered, my creativity decreases, even tho jamming with a big group is loads of fun!
 
May not be the same in a sense but a lot of what I do actually uses my creative side in some way. I tend to be heavily involved in science be it the practice of or studying. My drug of choice is ketamine, when its around good and i can afford it. I always say "i am fair too intelligent to not enjoy being a retard" which is what it makes me. Normally i can infer a lot about a given scenario but K makes me not able to understand what a chair is. I call it intellectual poison because i should be doing anything else with my time other then making myself into a brainless idiot considering i value my intelligence and believe it to be my best quality... probably why its so fun to completely annihilate it.

But when it comes to actually practicing my craft it is done 100% sober as mistakes are sometimes extremely costly.

K and PCP fuck up my executive functions too much.
 
Benzodiazepines by far are the most intellectually numbing, specifically Xanax. Even a very low dose can stupefy me. When I play my guitar or violin alcohol can be either a hinderance or a great help, depends on how I'm feeling that day.

Opiates don't kill my creativity they just make me not want to put in the effort to be creative.
