I have reason to believe that some crank going around my town was cut with acetone.
In some batches, it was almost if you could *taste* greasy, oily, shit running down the throat when you took a breath. It was nasty. Exactly how harmful is this?
 
Acetone is used to clean meth...The reason it's so nasty is becouse its not clean...

yeah.... Im uneducated on technical things involving crank.....
 
Yeah there is other stuff you can use to clean but acetone seems to be the best for a quik clean.. Acetone drys very quikly so i doubt your injesting very much..Crank is always nasty, you should learn how to clean your shit, you can turn some yellow crank into some clear shards...

How the hell do you "cut" meth is acetone?
Acetone is used to wash meth, as the interesting thing is that acetone will eat up most things OTHER then meth... it also evaporates leaving no real smell or taste... if your shit is "greasy" or "oily" then you NEED to wash it with acetone, as it sounds like sloppy chemistry...

Can acetone be acquired easily? Can it be bought legally and where?

You can get acetone at any Home Improvement center as well as wallmart and S-Mart (Shop Smart, Shop S-Mart). The shit is very legal and has a miriad of uses, not like you are going to get popped for having it!
If used properly you should have no problem using acetone to clean-up what every you are trying to clean-up. As a matter of fact, Acetone is used most often for the final clean-up of MDMA after crystaliztion. Reason is, MDMA isn't soluble in acetone, however, other organics left after amination are.
Further, the only thing that should be used to cut crank is Vita-Blend or other similar Vitamin/Binder products......

is the acetone found in these stores considered "reagent grade"? or is it not a good idea to wash a compound in this then consume it?

The stuff you find in the stores wouldn't necessarily be considered reagent grade. However, you shouldn't have any problems provided you let your SHIT dry out thoroughly, to the point you can't smell acetone anymore...
But if you are that worried about using acetone, you could use 100% Isopropyl Alcohol instead to dissolve your SHIT and recrystalize it (THE SHIT THAT IS!), leaving you with Crystal instead of Crank. This process would be more involved, i.e.; dissolve, decant through filter, keep liquid and let evaporate, discard filtered crap.

I am guessing that these items found in the local pharmacy are not reagent grade and may be detrimental if used for this purpose? what is the best way to bathe the home sample? set up ghetto style buchener funnel out of a coffee filter etc? how long should i bathe the solution before rinsing? or is it better to let it evaporate?

d00d, this isn't a drug chemistry forum, so I am gunna say this quick then lock this TOS-Violation (get it? TOS? AOL? hahaha I found an LOL on AOL!! I G2G but I BRB hahaha) ..
1) Acetone is acetone, the grade you buy in a hardware store is just as good as reagent grade, acs grade, etc.... isopropyl alcohol isn't used for washing, so that doesnt concern us ..
Now, how to wash your dope....
Take a piece of screen and put a filter on it, take your dope (whatever the ILLEGAL DRUG you're trying to wash) and spread it across the filter - if you're using coffee filters and not a real lab filter, use like 3-5 .. now take your ICE COLD acetone and pour it over the ILLICIT DRUGS THAT YOU POSSESS WHICH VIOLATE STATE AND FEDERAL LAWS ... make sure you are catching all the acetone in a container, as if you fuck up and all your dope goes bye-bye, you can evaporate the acetone and get the dope back.. do this a few times, and eventually you're left with some pretty, clear/white crystals ... let dry and serve...
That is a good example of a "gentle wash" ..
Oh, when you go to the home improvement store, and they are like "what do you need the acetone for?", it's best you do NOT SAY "I need the acetone for washing my ILLEGAL DRUGS hahahaha r00fle! r00fle!
