Cocaine Crack cut with dog dewormer

I want to tell you a scary story that I saw on my local news. A middle aged lady was smoking crack with some friends and started feeling ill. She went home and went to sleep and later woke up feeling like she was on fire. The doctors think she had an immune response to the dewormer, which is apparently added to give it more kick. 60% or her skin died and she had to have numerous skin grafts. She was in the hospital for several months. I don't know how common such reactions are. Just putting it out there. Apparently not the greatest thing to use as cut. One of the scariest stories I ever saw. She must have been in misery.

The drug in question is levamisole and at one point in time not too long ago the DEA reported that up to 2/3 of seized cocaine in the USA was contaminated with it. There's lots of stuff here on Bluelight about it, do a search.

Nobody is sure why levamisole is added. It's not a psychoactive drug and doesn't actually help the experience at all. The best explanation I have heard is to increase the "visual quality" of the cocaine (i.e. as a bulking agent that forms nice crystals).

There are testing methods for detection of levamisole but I don't know if they're commercially availiable.
