Counter culture and drug use

For me I've always been interested in counter/drug culture. Example: The beatniks, mainly William S Burroughs, Lou Reed, Hunter Thompson, Grateful Dead, etc which made wonder what drugs were like. Was curious if if anyone else was the same.

Btw, I'm not blaming counter culture for my addiction
